    [1] try an e-mail to Php-Mods.eu first as then you have proof that you have tried to contact them reasonably first before making any software changes.  This is helpful should they ever take legal action against you for altering their code.

    [2] make a backup of all the forum software before you start and have it stored offline by the CEO of the virtual airline as proof that you had the original code in the first place

    [3] modify the code and comment that it has been done for the reason that the on-line security check with PHP-mods.eu is no longer working etc.

     

    This should get you back running and give you some sort of legal backing for making the modification to such code.

    His site is down completely and emails bounce with this error:

        Host or domain name not found. Name service error for

        name=          type=AAAA: Host not found.

     

    I had a hard time to get him to finish up our contracted round of changes for 2021. He said his real-life job was keeping him too busy.

     

    Sent him several emails during 2022, the last on 12/9/2022.  All of those went unanswered.

     

    I’m working to find a creative way to get the forum working again until I can find another dev to bring in another forum module – I just don’t have the knowledge to do this.

     

    Servetas did a good deal of work on our site for several years for a very reasonable price and it is a shame that he shafted us this way with ZERO (0) warning.

     

    You could always go thru the module files and attempt to strip out the verification parts in the code to see if you can get it working again.

    While I doubt your forum posts and users can be converted over, consider using phpBB forum software. It's free and has a lot of free addons as well.

    Win 11 will work with kACARS_Free - but.... the user needs to install .NET 3.5 - which doesn't come with Win11. A quick Google search for .NET 3.5 for Windows 11 will lead you to exactly how to do that.

     

    .NET 4.8 (I think) comes with Windows 11. If adding .NET 3.5 doesn't solve the users issue, have them reinstall .NET 4 also.

     

    Let us know if that works.

    You initially posted in the phpVMS v7 Support forum. I moved your post here.

     

    Does he have .NET 4.0 installed?

    Does he have FSUIPC installed for his specific sim version?

    Is he running kACARS_Free as Admin?

    Are you able to connect to your site with kACARS_Free?

     

    If the above doesn't work, he may have a corrupt .NET install and will need to reinstall.

    If that doesn't work, maybe try installing .NET 3.5

     

    You indicated you require kACARS_Free 1.0.1.1 (there is no 1.0.11) - is your site using 'http' or 'https'?

    'https' requires kACARS_Free 1.0.1.5 and supports FS9, FSX, P3D, MSFS and XP - requires use of FSUIPC or XPUIPC (sim specific)

    It would help to post more info about exactly what you wish to do.

     

    Do you have a current phpVMS install? If so, what version?

    What version do you want to upgrade to?

    PHP versions available on your hosting?

    MySQL or MariaDB version on your host?

    Who is your host?

    How much "data" in your present database?

    Best of luck with your project.

    Keep us all updated on your progress.

     

    As I'm sure you are aware - use caution in selecting a developer.

    There have been reports of "developers" using others work without permission. Whether payware or freeware - all original license terms and attribution requirements must be adhered to. Not following licensing requirements is copyright infringement and theft. Some will steal others payware or freeware work and pawn it off as their own.

     

     

     

     

  25. phpvms 5.5.2.72 - Add Schedules Issue

    With phpVMS 5.5.2.72, you will not only continue to have issues with MariaDB 10.3, but will also have issues with most any module you add as they aren't tweaked for PHP versions above 5.6. If you attempt to use the default crystal skin and no addon modules, chances are you won't attract many users either - as the default phpVMS v5.x is quite plain.

     

    Many shared hosts will not disable Strict Mode for "security reasons" as the server is shared by other websites in addition to yours.

     

    It would still be best to use phpVMS v7 - your installation issues can be easily overcome.

    Re-read the docs, use the latest v7 dev build (available in the releases channel on discord), use PHP 8.0 and be patient with yourself. Use the v7 guides found here to help set up specific areas of the site.
