    JAL Virtual Re: Launch!
Today JAL Virtual re-launched, with the biggest overhaul in the history of JAL Virtual. This is the response to Japan Airlines own rebranding about 1.5 years ago.
As you can see from our new logo on the top of the PR, we are fully embracing the Tsurumaru or crane circle logo. This logo has had a long history with JAL, and became an icon of the airline for a very long time. So when we at JAL Virtual heard that they were bringing it back we were delighted! We knew then we would have to work on a response to it and JAL Virtual decided a complete overhaul was the best option.
So I would like to present you detailed information on what we have done to overhaul JAL Virtual. Using our four headers you saw in the last Press Release about a week ago. Re: Designed! Re: Imagine! Re: Fresh! & Re: Start!

We have redesigned our website to match our new branding. This website is our best yet! We are using advanced twitter bootstrap technologies to bring you the best. Pilots will appreciate what our website has to offer. Simplicity, elegance, beauty those three elements are what make the new website great!
We have also brought back a new dedicated user forum! The forum will be a place to mingle with fellow pilots.

When we started our rebranding we imaged a JAL Virtual that was fluid, simple and elegant. A fluid branding scheme for our logo’s for Japan Airlines Virtual and its feeder airlines (as seen on top). Simplicity, not much to say here but our logos go direct to the point. Elegance, our logo in our opinion is the best we have come up so far, not crowded but not too fancy ether, somewhere in the middle.
    Re: Fresh!
A fresh new atmosphere has come to JAL Virtual. We hope to bring pilots a sense of enjoyment when flying with us. We hope to establish a virtual airline base with these upgrades to JAL.
    Re: Start!
So while you’re reading this. JAL Virtual’s new site and features is already online! It’s December 25th, 2012, Christmas Day! Go check it out! http://jalvirtual.org

    Extra!
Wait there’s more! JAL Virtual is looking for staff positions too!
JAL Virtual is currently looking for persons interested in these staff positions at our VA. Interested? Please Send a resume to admin@jalvirtual.org

Hub Managers: RJAA, RJTT, RJOO, RJBB

Hub managers are responsible for ensuring their hub(s) runs smoothly. This includes providing routes to and from their airfield, and acting as first line supervisors to members in their hub.

    Events Director:

The Event Director plans, organizes and promotes all events for Japan Airlines Virtual. They must be able to notify all pilots about the event, and maintain a list of pilots planning to attend the event. Furthermore, Event Directors coordinate with applicable ARTCCs to ensure proper ATC coverage.

    And that’s it!

  2. 1. Make sure that the characters you want are actually being populated into the DB Table correctly. You may need to change the character set on the table.

    2. You may need to change the character set on the site. There is a "PAGE_ENCODING" variable located in the local.config.php file. This may need to be changed.

I tried point 2 the "PAGE_ENCODING" variable, it didnt work even with the "ISO-2022-JP" code. Option 1 i have not tried but i know for sure it will be a pain to do. I am pretty sure PHPVMS supports other character sets than Latin but how is the question, there should be a guide made.

Does anyone know of any phpvms va's that are not using Latin character sets, like Arabic, Cyrillic, Chinese, Korean, Japanese?

    Thanks

  3. So, i started to translate JAL Virtual's site to Japanese, translating my skins .tpl files to Japanese in Dreamweaver, i planned to do the same for phpvms base .tpl files. But of course i wanted to test it out first, so i translated my core_nav, and live flight .tpl files uploaded them and got not Japanese Characters but all out random "@56vvv". Why is this happening? I am using Firefox and i have a Japanese language pack installed on Firefox and Windows.

Screen of the issue (yes you get to see my new site) and yes i know the nav bar is not placed properly.

Dreamweaver image on the right, result on the left. This is what im getting on the other pages i translated too.

  4. It looks like you have an error somewhere on your site that is stopping the XML from being sent. Check the PilotData.class.php file. But it may not be there. It could be anywhere.
All send you the pilotdata file. So you can analyze it. I dont get it, i mean it was working on my former host for awhile then it just stopped. On my new host its the same result.

    PilotData.class.php

  5. So heres what i got from the error log:

[31-Oct-2012 22:23:11 UTC] PHP Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/globalai/public_html/jalvirtual.org/core/common/PilotData.class.php:172) in /home/globalai/public_html/jalvirtual.org/core/modules/kACARS_Free/kACARS_Free.php on line 364
