The department of microbiology at Sharda University was established in the year of 2010 and the course is designed to impart in-depth knowledge to the students in various areas of microbiology so as to meet the demand of industry and academia. It is a multidisciplinary branch of biological sciences developed with the vision to prepare post-graduates for basic research and/or bio-Industry. Microbiology studies of microbes such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, algae and finds its use and applications in the various fields such as food and dairy industry, pharmaceuticals, fermentation, recombinant biopharmaceuticals, microbial based bioremediation of toxic pollutants, microbial waste management, water treatment plants, and agriculture.
