I've released phpVMS 7 beta 2, you can download it here:

	http://downloads.phpvms.net/phpvms-7.0.0-beta.2.tar.gz

This is mostly feature complete, releasing it now to help with testing for bugs and glaring omissions.

The 2nd alpha version is available for people to test and play with:

 Download: https://github.com/nabeelio/phpvms/releases/tag/v7.0.0-alpha2

 Docs: http://docs.phpvms.net

The biggest changes are that PHP 7.1 is required now. There are tons of bug fixes and extra features, which are documented in the changelog, and some things to make things easier, based on feedback. Bugs, etc, should posted in the issue tracker on Github.

The next release will be a beta version, with finances working, and hopefully finalized all features for a major release. No, I don't have a timeline

*NOTE* ATM, there are no ACARS compatible. The API won't be changing much, so see the docs if you're wanting to develop your own ACARS application, or to update yours to add compatibility: http://docs.phpvms.net/developers/acars

phpVMS 7.0 Alpha Release

https://forum.phpvms.net/topic/25405-phpvms-70-alpha-release/?do=findComment&comment=132291

Hi everyone!

After many months of work, the first alpha is available.

 Download: https://github.com/nabeelio/phpvms/releases

 Docs: http://docs.phpvms.net

Do note that at least PHP 7.0 is required, with htaccess and mod_rewrite enabled by your host. Right now, the main focus is ensuring the installer works on a variety of hosts, and all the basics are working as expected. Suggestions to make skinning, modules, widgets, and documentation updates are all welcome - please post in the appropriate subforum in the 7.0 section of the forum. Bugs, etc, can be posted in the #development channel on Discord, though I will likely ask you to create issues in the tracker. Also, if you're running into an issue, check the Issue Tracker that it hasn't already been reported.

I suggest reading through the Concepts page in the docs. There are some major changes to some fundamentals between the older version and newer version, mainly to address a lot of shortcomings of the older version, including multiple aircraft to schedules and fares. Finances are not working at the moment, but is a planned feature.

*NOTE* ATM, there are no ACARS compatible. The API won't be changing much, so see the docs if you're wanting to develop your own ACARS application, or to update yours to add compatibility: http://docs.phpvms.net/developers/acars

The documentation for addons/modules, widgets and theming is on-going, and will be a focus for the upcoming alpha/beta releases.

New Downloads Section

https://forum.phpvms.net/topic/25273-new-downloads-section/?do=findComment&comment=131739

Hi all,

To add a bit of organization to the modules madness, module/addon authors can add their modules to the downloads section above. It'll automatically create a topic in the Addon forum as well. If you have a bunch of add-ons you'd like grouped together, shoot me a message, and I can create a sub-category for you and restrict the uploads only to you.

VAcentral alternative - with benefits

https://forum.phpvms.net/topic/24988-vacentral-alternative-with-benefits/?do=findComment&comment=130770

Hello all,

A few years ago I started a virtual airline search engine, and quite a few of you joined up for it. Now I've reworked the website and added quite a few new features to www.virtualairlines.eu

You can now submit your schedules and pireps to virtualairlines.eu with the same API you use for vacentral, It takes literally 5 minutes to change and you get the following benefits:

Have your flight stats included with your listing in the search engine, to show how active your airline is.

A free fuel API, so you can display your fuel data on your pilot briefing (costs 20 bucks elsewhere)

Contribute to the biggest schedule database, where pilots can find scheduled flights of all airlines

Harness the power of your pireps! Your pireps have lots of information in them that you can analyze and find out about your pilots behavior. of course you could run queries on your own db and then make graphs on it, but still you couldn't compare it to other airlines. If you add your pireps to virtualairlines.eu, you have a lot of info at the click of a button, AND you can compare yourself to other airlines. For example, which are the most popular airports overall, and at your VA? Is it time to add a few, or maybe ditch some of the unpopular ones? Here's some example graphs:

There are more graphs and stats on my website, and if anyone has suggestions they can contact me and I'll look into it.

I've also started a blog where I'll post some of the code snippets I've created over the past few years. And I'll start putting some of my addon modules online soon.

So, if you haven't already signed up, please do so at http://www.virtualairlines.eu and reap the benefits for your airline:

	1) Add your VA to the search engine

	2) Submit VA news to our front page

	3) Get access to a free fuel API

	4) Be part of the biggest flight schedule database

	5) Get invaluable insights into your pilots behavior at the click of a button!

I also wrote a 6-page phpvms skinning guide which you can download once you sign up.

vacentral news

https://forum.phpvms.net/topic/24796-vacentral-news/?do=findComment&comment=129858

Hi y'all... vacentral will stay up until Dave's server goes down. I'm not sure when that will be (supposed to be today, I think). It's not going away forever - just temporarily. The main problem is that this server (with the forum) is running PHP 7.1, and that runs on PHP 5.3 Instead of updating it, I think I'm just going to leave it "off" for now, until I can figure out a migration plan that leaves compatibility with phpvms 2.x and the upcoming 4.0. There are a lot of components to it, so it would take me a while to figure out how to do the upgrades and all. I have to re-do the main phpvms page, since I haven't moved that over yet either.

Deleted Profiles

https://forum.phpvms.net/topic/22632-deleted-profiles/?do=findComment&comment=120292

I have had a few emails in regards to members profiles being deleted and hope this explains the why and how; there was over 33,000 users in the database, the vast majority were spam signups and it was just weighing on the speed of the forum. I deleted all the users that never posted anything in the forum, and that had no login activity on the site since January 1st, 2014. Meeting one condition or the other kept your profile in the system.
No one that ever posted on the site was deleted and if you had logged in since January 1st, 2015 your profile was not deleted. I am sorry if you did not meet these conditions and now noticed your profile gone, but never posting and not logging in for 18 months tells me that you were not using it. You are welcome to sign up again for a new profile if you would like.

Database Corruption

https://forum.phpvms.net/topic/22599-database-corruption/?do=findComment&comment=120201

The forum was hacked just after a DDOS attack on the server Saturday night and I thought the database had just been deleted which I restored from a backup from June 28th. What I did not realize that in the process of destroying the forum database the InnoDB engine on the mySql server was corrupted as well, which in turn corrupted almost every InnoDB table on the server. Drive volumes were also damaged in the attack.
With so many sites experiencing issues with database corruption I had no choice today but to rebuild the MySql server and restore all databases from the June 28th backup. This includes the forum and VACentral. Any data that was recorded between June 28th and today (July 6th) was lost in the process.

Development has pretty much stopped as my work schedule gives me almost no time for side-projects, so hopefully this fosters more forks and development, which I will be happy to merge back into the mainline branch(es).

I've updated the download to 2.1.936 - basically to null the file where I believe the exploit is coming from. I looked through the other files, and I think they look OK.
Please update as soon as possible - really the only updated file was core/lib/php-ofc-library/ofc_upload_image.php. Instead of deleting it, I patched it, so then it will get patched on an upload.
Sorry for all the trouble guys! Please be sure to look through your server and account very carefully - if you see something suspicious, delete it, or rename it to add a .txt extension so it can't be found, until you can verify if the file is safe or not.
Thanks!

Sluggishness

https://forum.phpvms.net/topic/8733-sluggishness/?do=findComment&comment=58076

Hi all,

With that, I'm in the middle of rewriting vaCentral, based on nodejs instead of PHP, along with optimizing a ton of things, and a new design. With Hurricane Sandy on her way, there is a possibility of phpVMS and vaCentral being down, with the datacenter being located in New Jersey.
If this happens, ensure that your site has the VACENTRAL_ENABLE set to 'false' in the local.config.php, until the site is back up.
Let's hope it's just the weatherman being wrong!

As you've definately noticed, phpVMS and vaCentral have been down. While I'm still tracking down the cause, I believe it to be malicious in nature.
As of now, avatars and forum attachments are unavailable, until the backup recovery completes.
The documentation above is also unavailable until some certain pieces of data are recovered.
I don't have an ETA on the completion of recovery. But, over the next few weeks, I will be bringing back online vaCentral and the main phpVMS site - while I'm not sure of any data loss, I don't believe there to be any. I will keep you all in the loop of far as the progress.

fivedev/phpVMS hosting is now officially starting an affiliate program - you get 7% of every referral, with a payout of $25. You also get a $5 bonus for signing up. Top referrals in every month will get a month free hosting. The servers have also been upgraded to PHP 5.3, and given more of a kick in terms of RAM and CPU. So, check it out! http://www.fivedev.net
In phpVMS news, the bug tracker has been moved to github, and more of the project is being moved there, to allow more community involvement in the direction and development. As I've said always, it will remain completely open-source.
vaCentral - a few changes have been implemented, mainly, any airlines without a PIREP in two months will be dropped off of the rankings. Weekly reports have also been fixed, and I'm looking to make a few more ranking changes. If you're good at math and like algorithms dealing with rankings, etc, drop me a line, let's talk.

This really affects US airports, so for now, live pricing will not be available for now, until I work out and figure out exactly what's going on - sorry all. I've changed the API to refer to the last updated fuel price, so they may be off (they were updated last week). I will be adding an airport import/export so that fuel prices can be updated en-masse, as with schedules. This will be available soon.
Again, my apologies
