Accent / iso-8859-1

Hi,

I’ve a question… I changed everywhere I could to ISO-8859-1 to be able to use accents… But it’s still not accept accents in the Pilots’ list, “Latest pilots”, etc…

Could you help ?

Regards,

In phpMyAdmin, you might have to convert your tables to support it. There’s an option to change the character set. It’s probably on “Latin” right now, which would explain the problem.

Thanks Nabeel for you answer… However, I did not managed to fix it.

I tried everything : UTF-8, Latin_Swedish, ISO-8859-1… Nothing works.

Actually, it does when I put UTF-8. But it works only for those pages (Pilots), and not for the hole website (? instead of é, è, à…).

If I put ISO-8859-1, it works for the global website, but not for Pilots list, latest pilots…

Don’t you have any idea to help me ? Thanks !

Regards,

Ugo.

UTF-8 is the right one. There’s a configuration setting in local.config.php, PAGE_ENCODING, which you also have to set to UTF-8

Hi Nabeel,

Actually, it’s what I did change… In the local.config.php, even if the Skin’s header, I added a “meta” line…

My MySQL database is also in UTF-8. To be frank, I really don’t know what’s happening there…

Ugo.

So where does the data show improperly?

The data shows improperly in airports names in PIREPs for instance…

Regards,

In the admin panel, or the pilot side?

Both of them. It’s why I think it’s database related…

For instance, for “Aéroport Genève-Cointrin”, I get “Aéroport Genève-Cointrin”.

Best regards,

Ugo.

Have you looked in the database table to see what it looks like?
