Question about skinning.

Hi,

I am wanting to set up phpVMS but I am wondering whether it only works when you view it through a web host.

If someone could let me know that would be great.

You can set it up on your local machine if you like and run it.  Use a program called wampserver.

A few people use Eclipse editor.

What do you mean by only through a web server?

Well when I have done websites on Dreamweaver I can just press F12 to see what it is like with all the images, background etc. But with phpVMS it just shows the writing in the template even though I have transfered the style sheet and images that go with the template.

Yeah Tom if you set it up on your local machine you can view it …If your using dream weaver you can use the get and put functions it has to put the files on your web server.

Sorry I have found my problem, I read through the forum and found that all that is needed to be done is upload the files to a host, right?

Then edit whatever I need to through the host…aaargh Im confused now!!!

Yes, you have to upload the files to your host, but you can edit them on your local machine.

I was using a local webhost (using xampp), to quickly do stuff, then I upload the finished product

Ok I got all the tables working but now Im trying to figure where all the other files go. Im using 000webhost

Oh- make sure when you’re using 000webhost to disable their analytics code- It causes major issues with AJAX and sometimes with PHP. Make sure you set it to disabled for your site at http://members.000webhost.com/analytics.php

No problem, you just need to upload the index.php and all the folders to your web root

Thanks, its all working now. Im just tinkering with it now to change font types and the like.

Just one question, how do you change the layout/format of the recent reports so it can be displayed as something similar to an arrivals board so it shows origin, destination, aircraft type, flight number etc?

Would be great if someone could guide me in the right direction.
