Fuel Cost Feedback

Hi Folks, I was just wondering how many of you are using the live fuel pricing?  If you are using it, how do you find it is working out?  To date, I have been using a generic fuel price but would like to move to the live pricing. I just was wondering if it seems to be going alright at this point or what is there that I need to watch out for.

I actually use a website and look up all the airports that I put into my database. I find all of the FBO’s that sell fuel and get an average price and use it. I find it is working out ok.  Some of the airports, the fuel cost is extremely high, where as in others it is extremely cheap.  So in the end, it basically evens out for me.

True, I would rather put my own prices since we are flying in europe…

Currently, I have all my airports set for live feeds.  I have airports all over the world.  If that airport is not in airnav is there a default value for fuel that is used or will I get no fuel cost?

In the latest ones it will show if there’s a live fuel price. If there isn’t, then it will let you know, so you should assign a default price. If you don’t, then it will use DEFAULT_FUEL_PRICE from the configs

All my airports where add either via the DB directly or the import process.  I remember setting them all to “0” for fuel prices.  I’ll have to make sure I set a value in the local config for the fuel prices.  Thanks for the info!

Hi Nabeel,

I just finished looking over my local_config file and I did not see the DEFAULT_FUEL_PRICE in the config anywhere.  Could you give me the location of this setting?

Copy it over from the app.config.php file. Any settings which aren’t in the local.config but in the app.config, you have to copy them over to take effect
