The Alps are the highest and most extensive mountain range system that lies entirely in Europe, stretching approximately 1,200 kilometres (750 mi) across eight Alpine countries: Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Slovenia, and Switzerland.

The Alpine region has a strong cultural identity. The traditional culture of farming, cheese making, and woodworking still exists in Alpine villages, although the tourist industry began to grow early in the 20th century and expanded greatly after World War II to become the dominant industry by the end of the century. The Winter Olympic Games have been hosted in the Swiss, French, Italian, Austrian and German Alps. At present the region is home to 14 million people and has 120 million annual visitors.

Canadian Xpress would like to invite all pilots & virtual airlines to join us on Saturday, May 21st at 10h00edt (14h00z) and 21h00edt (Sunday 01h00z) for our May 2016 fly-in where we fly from Marseille Provence (LFML), head north east around the Alps and fly the approach into Innsbruck (LOWI).

This is an open invitation to all pilots no matter what your flying experience to attend this Canadian Xpress sponsored event that will be flown on the VATSIM network.

More information regarding this event including operational details, charts, optional add-on scenery and Canadian Xpress Model Sets can be viewed by visiting www.CanadianXpress.ca or by directly downloading our Fly-In document here.

See you all on Saturday the 21st!
