Manu72
Fellow Virtual Pilots, The Hawaii Air National Guard (Virtual); 154th Wing is being formed for those pilots that are serious about flying military aircraft but without the constrants of Virtual Special Operations Groups (VSOAs). The 154th is a diverse unit that flies fighters, tankers, and transports. That being said the current stand up for this "VA" is the C-17A, KC-135R, C-40C(737), and the C-37 (Gulfstream V). We plan on adding the F-22A Raptor later on. As one of the people that setup the VSOA SIMAIRFORCE I got the chance to experience what it was like to form and run a virtual air force. I also flew for a couple virtual airlines as well as a virtual cargo. The VSOAs try and mimic the real world services but my feeling is that pilots are lost in the bureacracy. The 154WG is organised down to the wing level and the emphasis is on flying "simming" and having fun. Although the 154th is based out of Hickam AFB, Hawaii - its aircraft deploy worldwide. C-17s were deployed to the earthquake in Haiti and staged out Charleston AFB, SC. You'll find the HH tailcode aircraft all over the Pacific and Afganistan. The website is up but there are few things that need to be added. If you would like more information please feel free to contact me at grtgaspie@aol.com The website for the 154WG is at http://www.154wg.com/index.php and I am shooting for completion around the 1st of the year but pilots are free to sign up and join.
