Hi everyone,
I recently invested in some new servers at a completely different datacenter for my web hosting business. I am yet to fully test them so this is where I have an idea.
I'm thinking of running a limited amount of free basic PHPVMS hosting plans to check their reliability. So I'm asking the PHPVMS community if it is worth doing and something that you might be interested in. Obviously the free plan will be quite limited and obviously there will be paid plans (but I won't advertise those here if you don't want that).
So if you could just answer the following questions, that would be great:
Would you be interested in free PHPVMS compatible hosting? : Y/N
Are you comfortable with the cPanel control panel?: Y/N
How much disk-space would you expect? ...
How much bandwidth would you expect? ...
Thanks in advance,
John Richardson

Nice concept however a few pointers. Firstly a big issue is that corporate is not spelt "corperate". Also free hosting generally messes around with PHPVMS and it could be the possible reason why there is a PHP error on your homepage. Also on the note of free hosting; a TLD really boosts a virtual airlines' image. To be successful in the Virtual Airline sector, you have to at least invest in the latter.

Who made the website? I am starting a DVA and would be interested in buying a template or system from you if you are able?
I'm currently the Web Services Director for this project. I highly doubt that we would sell our skin/template even before we open if ever. Sorry.

Is this the same staff as at revelair?
No this is part of the same group of which Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Australia virtual's are in. The launching page is just an edited version of an open source project available freely on the internet, it is purely coincidental that they are using the same type of launch page.

Shouldn't this be in paid services?
-
I'm no longer part of this project and have handed control to 2 senior members of staff. It appears there is some confusion about permission, I did not say there was permission but instead I said we contacted easyJet and are awaiting an official reply. The name ezyVirtual I believe isn't infringing copyright however as said I'm no longer associated with project (apart from my skin being used) so I do not have any updates on the situation.

John

Open the form that is included with the module and use the form and input field tags from it in your new form. The dates, adult count, and children counts will not do anything with the module though, it will only be for looks.
Also, good luck with EasyJet, a large EasyJet VA was recently contacted by the EasyJet legal department and had to make signifigant changes in order to avoid a legal battle with them. I only say this as I as well went through a long period of development on a different real world based VA only to be completely shut down by their legal department.
Hi tried that, but the dropdowns don't fit and they overflow, is there anyway to stop this from happening?
Thanks

Link doesn't work

Hi everyone
I've been working more on my site, tidying code up etc before the launch (soon!) and there's really only one more thing, which is trying to link FrontSchedules with the html <form> I already created. I've seen it done elsewhere but I'm not sure how it's done, so if anyone knows how could you please tell me! Link is: http://ezy-va.com/index.php
Thanks in advance
John

P.S. All we did was move all the files over from the old server
Did you change the MySQL information in the localconfig file to reflect the new server?
-
i would set the lining off that table to center
Thanks, it fixed it. [sOLVED]

I don't see what's wrong?
Jon
If you look at Name and then the actual pilots name, they aren't ligned up etc
-
Hi everyone
I've noticed on my website that the pilots list has messed up, I don't know what the problem is and yes I've searched the forums. I've re-uploaded the default pilots_list.tpl but it has made no difference.
http://ezy-va.com/index.php/pilots
is the link to see the problem.
Thanks in advanced

Yes I just get an error now. Nothing to do with html, it is to do with php.
It's because I registered a new domain and hosting account last night and transferred it all across. The new link is www.ezy-va.com . I will set up a redirect in a minute.
-
It may work, but is not good practice.
Alright, I've fixed up the code. Any other problems?
-
Woops! Didn't notice that, thanks for the heads up. Just cleaned up the code now, I managed to declare the doctype and <head>'s in both the layout.tpl and frontpage_main.tpl. As for dropdowns, I already tried the search before and only found some links to download navbars, which really I hope is a last resort. <header> is valid and should be used for HTML5, if that's what you mean.

Hi all,
I've made a custom skin for my virtual airline which is currently under development. However I'm not sure how I'm going to make dropdown menus for the navbar. So if anyone knows how to, could you please give me a shout on here.
http://www.ezy-va.com/ is the link, yes the free host is temporary. I've ordered a VPS for the site and yes I'm currently in contact with easyJet.

John Richardson

Wow, incredible!
I am in the process of making my own custom skin for a virtual airline I'm making and I'd like to know how you did the "search flights" on the homepage, I've tried doing it myself with frontschedules but can't get it to work. Also the Live Flights map just gives me a grey map, is that just me or do others get it? I also have a problem where the livemap doesn't show at all and only the bottom table part(pilots etc) appears.
Kind regards and congratulations
John

Sorry to be a grammar nazi but just to point out, its website not web sight

Have you read the documentation ? http://forum.phpvms.net/page/index.html?category=5
Yep I've read it, doesn't mention anything about "importing" or implementing certain modules/elements of phpVMS into a website made from scratch not in the .tpl format or in standard layout.

Hi,
I've decided to give my startup VA a unique look (after looking at some opinion polls) by starting from scratch. I am of a decent standard in HTML4 and CSS; so I am trying to make my VA website from scratch in Dreamweaver.
I have some questions:
Will I have to edit the .tpl files in the /template folder to make the site or is there a way to implement the individual phpVMS modules into my .php site?
How would I get the admin center show on the navbar (custom made) only when I log in?
and
How would I get the new site communicating with the control panel?
Thanks for your help,
John Richardson

From looking at the image above, it looks to me like you have an extra </div> tag somewhere in your file..
yeah i've remove a </div> and its sorted that problem. Now I cant move the banner :/. ive tried padding but its not affecting it at all. Really stressing me out over a little banner

Looks to me that you have this fixed, since I viewed your site in both IE9 and Chrome, and everything looks the way it should.
Actually I haven't, I've reverted to using a static png. still no solution, been cracking at it for 3 hours now
