Basic module

Could some one please tell me how to make a module to display a couple of paragraphs of writing, instead of just adding it as a page?

Hope that's what you're looking for.

It uses a page created through the admin panel. Alternatively you can render a .tpl file by doing

$this->render('filename.tpl');

or printing stuff directly from the file by using

echo 'stuff to print here...';
