For some places in the world the weather is warming up and spring is slowly starting to break free of winter’s grasp, if you live in the southern hemisphere. For those of us in the northern hemisphere winter is on its way. Already here in some places like Buffalo NY, it has seen 6+ feet of snow over a period of 3 days.

This month, we are flying to the coldest airport in the world. Yakutsk Airport in Russia will allow you to experience what could be one of the chilliest travel hubs on the planet as the city is regarded as the coldest in the world. With the average temperature in January standing at around -39C (-38F). What makes this airport even stranger with its cold temperatures, is the airport isn’t high up in the mountains. It sits at only 275 feet above sea level.

Canadian Xpress would like to invite all pilots & virtual airlines to join us on Saturday, December 20th at 10h00est (15h00z) and 21h00est (Sunday 02h00z) for our December 2014 fly-in where we will travel from the east coast port city of Magadan at Sokol Airport (UHMM) and head 630nm inland to Yakutsk (UEEE).

This is an open invitation to all pilots no matter what your flying experience to attend this Canadian Xpress sponsored event that will be flown on the VATSIM network.

More information regarding this event including operational details, charts, optional add-on scenery and Canadian Xpress Model Sets can be viewed by visiting www.CanadianXpress.ca or by directly downloading our Fly-In document here.

See you all on Saturday the 20th!
