JAL Virtual has founded the Starfly Alliance with Air Argentina, with this alliance we will be able to effectively codeshare and coordinate events better. Here is the full announcement & joint statement by both airlines. At the time of this post Malaysia Virtual Airlines have joined the Alliance. ----------------------- With the advance of the technologies and communities called " Virtual Airlines " that every day seek to be alike more the reality; Air Argentina, one of the biggest virtual airlines of Argentina, and Virtual JAL, the biggest virtual airline of Japan, they announce their commitment in joining for the creation of the new alliance of virtual airlines: Starfly Alliance. By means of this alliance both airlines seek to create a community which could join airlines all over the world to be able to achieve an exchange of ideas, schedules and other resources, as being able to organize events. Others of the goals of the alliance it is going to be to select to the best airlines both in its operational quality (fleet and pilots) and in its quantity of monthly operations. Nowadays the executives of both airlines are working in laying the foundations of this new alliance to be able to begin with its functioning and with the incorporation of new members. Magazine JAL VIRTUAL has released there Summer magazine to its pilots about two weeks ago, now its releasing it to the public. This magazine focuses on the retirment of JAL's 747-400'S from service in Spring 2011. Enjoy Magazine Events Join JAL Virtual on the weekend of August 26th, 27th and 28th for the biggest event in VATASIA airspace. This event titled Eastern Wind 2011, is a VATSIM 10th Anniversary event its going to be huge. I have setup a event page and you can sign up here the event is in 13 legs and the schedules start at JAL0000-0012 and will be marked “eventâ€. All pilots who complete the event will get 25 hours bonus added. ------------------ Full event Information. VATASIA's largest annual event, Eastern Wind, has made its way back. Eastern Wind 2011 will span the August 26th weekend, kicking off on Friday (Aug 26) evening and winding down on Sunday (Aug 28) night. This year we will feature an extended route that connects a series of main aviation hubs in the VATASIA airspace, not to mention a comprehensive coverage of excellent ATC service at each airport. Since 2011 marks the 10th anniversary of VATSIM and VATASIA, to celebrate this special occasion, this year's EW will feature a contest whose winners will receive prizes from our generous sponsors. Details and rules for the contest will be published on VATASIA website and VATSIM forum at a later time.
