After installing, download the FSACARS config file from your Pilot Center
Place the downloaded file into where you installed FSACARS (ie: C:\Program Files\FSacars)
Basic Setup
Open FSACARS, goto “Config†on the menu, then select “Optionsâ€, and uncheck “ACARS Online†from under “General FSAcars optionsâ€
Using FSACARS
Start Flight Simulator (FS9 or FSX), setup your flight. Next open FSACARS, and select your VA from the options:
Next, FSACARS will ask if you're at the departure airport. Select “Yesâ€
FSACARS will load some default information. Now, load the data needed. What I have filled out is what you need at minimum. Once they show up, then the “Start Log†button is available.
What to enter
The aircraft type should be the same as the “Aircraft Name†provided by your va
Enter the aircraft registration in the registration field. Otherwise it will not count toward the aircraft, and an admin will have to change it.
Pilot number should be your FULL pilot number, including code (it should be pre-filled)
The flight IATA should be the FULL flight number, including the airline code and number (ie: VMA65). Leave out the leg, the system will attempt to figure it out.
Enter something in the route (as per your VA's instructions), then the “Start Log†button will be available.
After you finish your flight, put on the parking brake (do not exist flight sim!!) and click the “Flight Log†to view your log.
