This is an interesting thread, only just coming across it now.
David, I cannot agree with your post enough. I like to help people out where possible. I visit the forum at least daily to see what's happening, what modules/skins are being developed or released (including my own) and helping out others. However, non-meaningful titles are a a big no, I also ignore them. I also ignore, like you say, recurring issues that are asked about at least once a week. Another thing you did not cover is the shoutbox. The shoutbox is not for asking for assistance. Nor is it to pester members to give you assistance in an existing thread. What's possibly most annoying is that in a month or two the 'VA' that they needed help with will be gone.
As for the commercial aspect of the forum, I agree with mseiwald. It should be up to the developer. I was, and still am, a huge fan of free and open-source projects. That said, it's easy to understand why people want to charge for their work. Take myself for example. I have a few skins and modules in development, some are relatively easy to develop and take less time. Some have been worked on for months on end, having spent many frustrating hours on them at a time. I'm still working out what should be payware and what should be free. Whilst free releases are always going to be more popular, sometimes it's only fair that there should be something in return. I have only released two skins in the past, both free. This is far less contribution than other members however I plan to change that. My skins will continue to be free, with perhaps the odd exception, however my two upcoming modules - each destined for release within the next few months - are likely to come at a price. I plan to become a pilot and hope to make a move on that fairly soon, by the end of next year in fact if all goes well. I'm sure we all know that commercial flying training is not cheap. With that (and other financial commitments) in mind, my focus is quickly turning to paid releases.
I will always focus on the benefit of my modules and ideas rather than the $$$, which I think some members overlook. We should remember it should be a case of money for modules, not modules for money, if you get what I mean.

Any more news on progress? I like what I am seeing so far.
Getting there, it's considerably more complex than I first anticipated. Originally it was designed on an individual aircraft basis, however I'm in the process of converting it into a day of week layout.

Me too! Or is it a little late now? lol
No, development just starting.

There's a div missing, check the original skin files.

Delete this:
<div class="art-slidenavigator art-slidenavigatorheader" data-left="95.03"> <a href="#" class="art-slidenavigatoritem"></a><a href="#" class="art-slidenavigatoritem"></a> </div>
That looks like it has been coded horribly regardless. I take it you never did get my plugin installed?

Flash is more of a recommendation.
So list it as desired

If you wanted you could do this easily using jQuery, but with no experience with AngularJS, I can't help you if that's how you want to do it.

To get an idea, what's the preference towards layout? Would you rather see a full month-by-month calendar or just a 'timeline' as shown in the screenshot?
Anyone?
-
Not too bad looking, however I don't think it's a great idea to confirm the jumpseat tickets using GET, because it's then easy for the user to type any ICAO and cost they like. It would be quite easy to mess things up just by someone entering any old ICAO code they want.
Personally, not keen on the entire concept because I feel it's very confusing from a pilot's perspective.

Building on what simpilot said, I feel this is being overdone. It sounds very similar to simpilot's module, and I think there may be another somewhere too.

OK, I've decided that nearly a year after after I first posted this that I will be developing it.
To get an idea, what's the preference towards layout? Would you rather see a full month-by-month calendar or just a 'timeline' as shown in the screenshot?
Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you! How do I install it? I don't understand the instructions..... where do I put the files, and where EXACTLY do I put the code?
Where do you want it?

You could always use a database backup.

Shut up and take my money!
It was intended to be free, don't tempt me!

Similar to my simpleSlideshow plugin, only for an image gallery instead. Released under the MIT licence, free for personal or commercial use provided that the copyright header remains intact.
Note: Due to file size restrictions on the forum, I was forced to delete a few of the demo images.

Decided to post this here as it's now lying around doing nothing. It's a jQuery slideshow plugin I created a few months ago, with the intention of publishing it elsewhere commercially. Instead, I'm posting it here for free.
jQuery image sliders/slideshows are popular on VA websites. A lot of the times the ones available are quite complex. I remember when I first started making them I felt they were too complex for my needs.
It's being released under the MIT licence, so you can use it as you wish, even commercially, provided you keep the copyright header in the code.
Enjoy!

Ok, thank you. It's now at the bottom, but is there a way to make it go to the center?

Well thank you so much for your replies guys really appreciate though my issue is not resolved yet i hope someone will come up with the code if possible.
Have you searched yet?

Thank you for your reply actually i wanted to keep realism in the VA so that is why i need the code to be amended in a way so we can add it directly without using any alphabets any ways thank you for your suggestion.
please if anyone can help me in changing the code.
Best Regards
James
Do a search for same flight numbers.
-
All you have to do is add each flight but remove the code in your ScheduleData.class.php that blocks the addition of schedules with the same flight number. You can find it here on the forums.

Can you explain what your talking about?
Clearly English is not his first language.
Can you explain what your talking about?
Not sure yours is either.

As for the OP:
1. Do you mean that you wish to prevent more than a certain number of bookings for an event?
2. From what I understand, you want to email the pilot that he is retired after 31 days. This is native to phpVMS, you can edit the number of days a pilot must be inactive to be retired in your core/local.config.php file.

And we know that they don't have permission how?
Who said they didn't have permission?

Because it's realistic - in the real world, higher ranks pay better.
