This month, Canadian Xpress® has been hired to move SAR equipment from Death Valley National Park, where it’s been supporting the Badwater Ultra-Marathon and other summer events in the valley, to its winter location at Lake Tahoe. One little catch to this mission, the Hawker Siddeley HS.748 and the BAe JetStream 41 are the only two cargo aircraft locally staged in this area that is able to operate out of Furnace Creek. Both are fine aircraft, however they can get a little picky in the hot weather. Your job is to load up the most cargo you can at Furnace Creek (L06) and make your way to Lake Tahoe Valley (KTVL). Join Canadian Xpress® today in order to participate as there are some great prizes to be won. First Place: 25 bonus flight hours (enables you to climb the ranks faster in order to fly larger, more challenging aircraft) and the Monthly Challenge Award added to his/her name in the Pilot Roster: In addition, any Download product from: http://www.aerosoft.com/ Second Place: 15 bonus flight hours (enables you to climb the ranks faster in order to fly larger, more challenging aircraft); Third Place: 10 bonus flight hours (enables you to climb the ranks faster in order to fly larger, more challenging aircraft); The September 2013 Challenge is open to all Canadian Xpress® pilots from September 2nd until September 30th, 2013 so join Canadian Xpress® today by visiting http://CanadianXpress.ca . *Canadian Xpress® accepts 50% of your VATSIM, IVAO or other virtual airline hours with no limits.

Halifax Robert L. Stanfield International Airport is Atlantic Canada’s principal full-service airport providing passengers and cargo clients with access to markets across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean Basin, and Europe. It’s the only airport in Atlantic Canada to offer Canada Customs services on a 24 hour, seven day a week basis, and U.S. preclearance. The Airport, a major economic generator valued at $1.26 billion to the provincial economy, welcomes over 3.5 million passengers annually; gives back through its Community Outreach Program and its Signature Partnership with Habitat for Humanity; and is an internationally recognized leader in customer service, having been rated the Best Airport in the World in its class for seven of the past nine years and certified as Airport Service Quality Assured – an industry benchmark of service excellence. During Operation Yellow Ribbon on September 11, 2001, the Halifax Airport handled the diversion of 47 US-bound aircraft that had been diverted from American airspace in the aftermath of the September 11th disaster. On January 21, 2013 the airport officially opened the $28 million extension to 05/23, resulting in an increase in runway length from 8,800ft to 10,500ft. CYHZ can now handle just about anything with wings. Moncton FIR invites all pilots and virutal airlines to join them on Wednesday, February 13th between 19h00est-23h00est (24h00z-04h00z) on the VATSIM network staff the Halifax Airport from the ground up during this four hour event! Challenge our controllers with as much and as varied traffic as you can throw at us! Fly in from one of our local airports or from outside the zone! Depart to one of our regional fields or to your home FIR/ARTCC. The choice is yours, but whatever choice you make on February 13th, fly Halifax!

This month’s challenge is an easy passenger run this month. No VFR cross-country flying, picking up equipment in fog and snow storms, just an 80% passenger load from Toronto (CYYZ) to Halifax (CYHZ). But... For the February Challenge you can only fly an aircraft that is in your rank. What's this mean? If you are Captain rated, you can only use an aircraft from the Captain level, nothing higher and nothing lower. Same goes for all the ranks, only the aircraft listed in your rank, based on the Canadian Xpress® website, ranking system. This levels the playing field for those who have been around for years and can land a small aircraft at -100 any day of the week, unlike those who are just getting started. Lower ranked pilots will be able to fly smaller lighter aircraft, while the veterans of Canadian Xpress® will have to take a heavy slow to manoeuvre aircraft and try for that magic touchdown number. Join Canadian Xpress® today in order to participate as there are some great prizes to be won. First Place: 25 bonus flight hours (enables you to climb the ranks faster in order to fly larger, more challenging aircraft) and the Monthly Challenge Award added to his/her name in the Pilot Roster: In addition, any Download product from: http://www.aerosoft.com/ Second Place: 15 bonus flight hours (enables you to climb the ranks faster in order to fly larger, more challenging aircraft); Third Place: 10 bonus flight hours (enables you to climb the ranks faster in order to fly larger, more challenging aircraft); The February 2013 Challenge is open to all Canadian Xpress® pilots from February 2nd until February 26th, 2013 so join Canadian Xpress® today by visiting http://CanadianXpress.ca . *Canadian Xpress® accepts 50% of your VATSIM, IVAO or other virtual airline hours with no limits.
