ukmil Posted June 18, 2011 Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 I have just noticed, after looking at a few Pireps on my Va, which are all auto complied by kacars, that the 'flight' time allocated is the total time. for example, here is a log from a flight [19:34] Aircraft Title - Virtavia C-17A 2[19:34] Aircraft Model - C17 [19:34] Flight Number UKM13 [19:34] Departure EGQL [19:34] Destination UKM1 [19:34] Boarding [19:41] Taxiing to Runway [19:42] Taking Off [19:43] Taking Off [19:43] 185kts [19:43] pitch angle -4 degrees [19:43] 161102 (lbs) of fuel onboard [19:43] Climbing [19:48] Overspeed [19:48] Overspeed Corrected [19:57] TOC Reached [19:57] Cruise 5000 [20:29] Landing Rate -555fpm [20:29] 138705 (lbs) of fuel onboard [20:29] pitch angle -3 degrees [20:37] Max Sim Rate: 1x [20:37] kACARS_Free Version 1.0.0.9 the log was started at 19:34, and filed at 20:37, BUT the Flight time, from take off to landing was only 46 mins. The pirep when filed by Kacars, had the hours allocated as 1:02. But the pilot should only get 46 mins of flight time? Is this set up correct or something I am doing wrong? ukmil Posted June 18, 2011 Author Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 agreed, but my VA is based on military. Mil pilots only get the hours they actually FLY logged. The issue with the current system, is pilot competition, and I can see some on my guys sitting on filing the Pirep for say 45 mins, to gain 45 mins over their competitors. Is there not a setting within the code, that I can change on my setup, so the VMS reads Take of and landing times instead of complete time? scajolly Posted June 28, 2011 Report Share Posted June 28, 2011 You could ask them to not start the ACARS until they are on the runway, parking brakes on, ready to take off.
