uploading skin solved

I have just uploaded the brilliance skin but its not looking right on my website. Can somebody look at www.airlingusva.com and help me please

there is no css there. You have:" http://www.airlingusva.com/lib/skins/brilliancev1/css/style.css which does not exist. Are you sure you uploaded the style.css file?

i have checked my file manager and yes the css file is there

What directory is it in? It should be in: lib > skins > brilliancev1 > css.

I don't think that you have the folder placed correctly, did you mistakenly add a folder within a folder when you unzipped the files? Like ->

/lib/skins/newskin/newskin/files

HI SIM . NO IT IS IN WITH MY CRYSTAL SKIN WHICH WORKS FINE . I UNZIPPED THEM INTO A FOLDER IN MY DOCS THEN UPLOADED USING FTP ON CPANEL

u are not placing ur files propartly

When I try to go directly to the folder through a url it tells me it does not exist, when i try to go to your crystal folder it denies access so I know it is there. Where exactly are you placing the skin folder? Your file tree should look something like

/lib
  /skins
     /crystal
     /brillancev1

Hi Sim, Yes sorry i had called the folder brill. i have renamed the folder now to the proper name but its still not working . you will find it now if you go through a url. I do appreciate you trying to help me because i am totally confused

Could you take a screenshot of what you have in your skins and brilliancev1 folders?

I just went to it and it is still showing as a dead link. I think you have done one of two things;

uploaded the new skin inside of the existing crystal skin and not beside it, or

you have a folder within a folder from unzipping it. (A brilliancev1 folder within the brilliancev1 folder)

Without some screenshots of your file tree or ftp access I do not have much more insight.

By the screenshot you have everything you need, the layout.tpl file basically is a index.html file for the skin. Hard to tell what is going on? I think you mentioned that the crystal skin works properly on a fresh install, right?

I'm having the same problem, what was the spelling mistake? Don't you need to tell one of the core files to point it to the brilliance skin?

the spelling mistake was the name of the skin in my lib/skins folder. i had brillance instead of brilliance
