reed0427 Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 I want to add a link on my website so pilots can download or view a word document. Problem is, I don't know where I can post the document so I can link to it. I tried googledocs but it only stores files, you can't link to the file. I tried uploading them via my cpanel, but the link is not recognized. I'm assuming that is because you need to log in to view that page. Any ideas where I could upload these files to? Quote
Tom Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 You can use Google Docs... just go Share in the top right, at the top it'll say Private blah blah Change... Click change, choose anyone with the link, then save... it'll give you a link. 1 Quote
tgycgijoes Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 I use mediafire and upload all kinds of files and photos for my pilots and clients to download. I prefer to use pdf files for all my text docs. Not everyone has MS Word to open a Word file but everyone can get Adobe Reader free. Just a suggestion. Quote
tutmeister Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 You could also use dropbox, as you can place files in the public folder and get a direct, share-able link to the file in question which you can then place on the website, forum, etc. Quote
rpalmer800 Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 uh, well, you actually can upload it to cPanel i am guessing you just didn't have the right link, if you upload it to the folder public_html/downloads/ops.pdf it will be at www.yoursite.com/downloads/ops.pdf Quote
