ATAvCEO
Hello all, Moderators, if this is not in the appropriate forum area please move. Anyways have a question or asking your opinion for all VA CEO's on awarding pilots with flight awards. When you have a new pilot join that has transferable hours and you accept those hours do you award those new pilots with hourly flight awards automatically or do you award those pilots with the hourly awards they actually flew within your VA? We do count the transferable hours for the Pilots Rank when they join but again undecided on the best method for Pilot Awards. We know every VA does their own thing, but we are only seeking opinions. Thank you for your time and your opinions. Ron S. ATAv CEO www.ata-virtual.com
tgycgijoes
In My Holiday Airline the awards that we have are for: The most flights per month; most online atc flights per month; years of service in the va awards. I would also think that in "real-world" airlines the same would apply. Pilots do not get awards for example 10 years of service with 4 years in one airline and 6 years in another. It has to be 10 years service with the SAME airline. We likewise transfer all the verifiable hours towards rank where rank is a determinant in aircraft or flights that can be flown in my other va's. What awards do you have that would take into account the transferable hours?
Moderators joeri Posted September 26, 2012 Moderators Report Share Posted September 26, 2012 we count transferhours but we only allow a max off 140hours to be transferd so that all start somewhat equal
tgycgijoes
I have been in a number of va's over the years...some allow NO hours, some like Joeri allow some and some like ours allow ALL the hours but in any case they must be verifiable like an employer checks resumes for validity. CXA001
Like some VAs we do accept a portion of flight hours from other VAs or VATSIM/IVAO hours. We also have a variety of different awards that our pilots can earn. Some of them are based on hours, but most are to do with other activities within our organization, such as attendance for events, different contests, etc. For our awards that do involve hours, if the pilot does have enough transferred hours to obtain a particular "hours award" they will get that particular award. As for the non-hours awards, they have to be earned like everyone else.
ATAvCEO
Thanks everyone for your opinions. As we are a new VA (not intended for advertising purposes) we are just trying to figure out the best method for the flight hour awards. We do credit all our new pilots transferable hours that are verified in whole as they have earned them from various past VA's. As other awards per CXA001's post, pilots will have to earn them as well with us. Again thanks everyone for your opinions, helps out a great deal.
