problem in skinning

i was just trying to do the "skinning" thing for my Va.. i followed the first few steps to create a header file, and a footer file and uploaded to my website

i don't see any colors and animation on it please help

Looks like a typo:

<link href="</php echo SITE_URL/>default.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

Should be <?php and ?>, respectively
