  1. Well we all make mistakes when it comes to grammar, (not every one here is a native speaker/writer and even natives are often found messing it up) Then when one apologizes to to blow him/her is not ethical. Let's stick to the point what brought us here. Thanks, Ermias

    Live Map

Hi, you have to go here: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html And signup for google api key. Just type "http://localhost" if you are testing it within your local computer as a server or typ your domain then copy the key. Then open phpvms admin panel, after opening the site and stttings/general settings in the "google api key" space. Then the map will show up. ermias
  7. Hi Nabeel, Last night I did the updates successfully and hope it will fix most of the issues that many of us havae. I have a question thogh. Is there a way to add a button or link to to call the "contact us" page withiout typing on the URL? And a similar one: I have imbaded phpvms in my VA website, I access it from the main "home page" using a button/link "Pilot lounge". How can I redirect from phpvms to the main va website page when one loges off or just wants to go back? Thanks in advance, ermias
  8. Nabeel, Thanks for the quick replly. I support the contribution and donation. We well know how much others are asking to pay. phpVMS really deserves to ask for some and bits them by miles!! ermis
  9. Hi Nabeel, Does this mean, if I understood it well, part of the website (a virtual ailines) going to be webbased and the other part in control of the owners? And the other question (probably a bold one, I guess, since no one replied sofar) is phpVMS gradually going to shy away from freeware world? I am sure this is probably the question in the head of many of us. Where ever it goes I will support the idea. Thanks for evey bit of time you invested to give this great software. Ermias
  10. Thanks Nabeel, Since there are many files, which ones shold I check in either phpvms or fsacars? Ermias
  11. Hey Nabeel, Is it possilbe to view a test flight on live map from a local host? I ahve the goole map set and viewable and I am still using my own local server for testing, but there is no view even if I file the flight table of acars. I have downloaded the fsacars ini and placed it in acass folder. What change should I make to ACARS OR PHPVMS? Thanks, ermias
  12. Hi Nabeel, I finally got the time to check for your reply. Thanks a million and problem fixed! I was reading on the other thread about automatic user creation to a forum of a VA via phpvms while a new user logs in. The whole thing was beyond my knowledge and I gave up. Is there any thought aobut including it in one of your major updatses? I'm sure many would love to seethat. How about creating a wish list in your forum so that you can gauge which requests weigh more? Thanks, ermias
  13. Nabeel, Thanks for the reply, but I forgot to mention that at the moment I am using Xampp as local host in my computer to see if everything is working before I upload it to a host. Any hope? Ermias
  14. Good morning, As usual I am here with another issue, this time update link. On the admin panel site over view tab under the st it reads: "Error: The phpVMS update server could not be contacted. Check to make sure allow_url_fopen is set to ON in your php.ini, or that the cURL module is installed (contact your host). " Well the php ini for this matter is set to ON and I don't know anything about cUrl. I have downloaded it but I don't know where or how to insall it. Or is there another shortcut to this? Thanks for the usual help, ermias
  15. New Day, Fresh Appearance!! Looks really great. Thanks, Ermias
  16. Hi, I corrected the problem; thanks a bunch. But on the way I realized the download link ,which is under the pilot center is showing nothing even if I wrote the link to the download and the image. It only lists the headings like this: Downloads Aircraft There are no downloads under this category Scenery There are no downloads under this category Aircraft Panel There are no downloads under this category Charts There are no downloads under this category Pilot Manual There are no downloads under this category Thanks in advance, Ermias
  17. Thanks for the quick reply. I will try that. Ermias
  18. Hi, Thanks for the new update. It is really great and adds to the reality. I have one problem though, the pilot roster under pilots doesn't show the list of pilots up? Is there something I should do? And where? One more thing, where do I put the images for pilot rank and how would I link them to the pilots' roster? Thanks, Ermias
  19. Hi, Is there a place to go and download world airports list with all the infos for phpvms? I specially find it difficult to get the coordinates for individual airports. I would also love to get info for aircraft weight, range and the like. Thanks, ermias
  20. Nabeel, I found the line and it is the same us you wanted it to be. It reads: $this->register_error($mysql_error($this->dbh), mysql_errno($this->dbh)); return false; The bolded part is the word "return". Do I delete only that or along with the word "false"? Unfortuately I did both and no change so far. I haven't done any change in the database sofar. I use Html kit and it shows you the text formating and line one by one. Thanks for the quick help, Ermias
  21. Hi Nabeel, I set up the 'phpvms' va software and it worked perfectly and this morning it surprized me with the following prompt: "Fatal error: Function name must be a string in C:xampphtdocsphpvmscoreclassesMySQL.class.php on line 134" Where (which folder) can I fix it? The other part of the website works fine except phpvms and the phpbb3 forum inturface. Both of them return the prompt above. when I try to access them. By the way I tried to reinstall and nothig changes. Any help? Thanks for everything and help you gave me, ermias
  22. Hi Nabeel, Good news at the end!! Now I have the pages and the links working. Do I have to go back and setup the tables on mysql since I don't see them? Next qetion how do I link the whole 'phpvms' setup with my website to call it? At the moment i open it by typing http://localhost/phpvms/. And the last (at least for tonight) how can I start the live map? This is for now, I am sure I will have tons to ask. I will also search the forum. Thanks in advance, ermias.
  23. Thanks very much, I will uninstall the whole thing and try xampp in a couple of hours. Thanks again, ermias
  24. Hi, Thanks for the quick reply and help. I installed the latest php from the download section from phpvms. Do I have to configure some thing in the download? Have I missed something? I also installed php, apache and my sql separately. I set the report error to =no and the warnings didn't showup this time. When I go to the next step, the screen turnd just plain blank (not the "page not found") like unwritten html page. I have also set the read and write permissions correctly. By the way where is the database? I don't know what name I should use, I also use only password to start mysql? Thanks for all the help, ermias
  25. Nabeel, I am in a process of building a virutal aviation. I am novice to php even if I managed to build a website for the VA. I am struggling with the following notices and I can't really figure out what they mean. For the moment I am using an exra computre as a server to practice the whole thing befor I appload it to a real host. I am using php 5.2 and mysql 5.1 in appache 22.8 server. Can you shade help on these? Notice: Undefined variable: message in C:Program FilesApache Software FoundationApache2.2htdocsphpvmsinstalltemplatess1_db_setup.tpl on line 12 Notice: Undefined index: action in C:Program FilesApache Software FoundationApache2.2htdocsphpvmsinstallinstall.php on line 16 Notice: Undefined index: page in C:Program FilesApache Software FoundationApache2.2htdocsphpvmsinstallinstall.php on line 49 Notice: Use of undefined constant CACHE_TIMEOUT - assumed 'CACHE_TIMEOUT' in C:Program FilesApache Software FoundationApache2.2htdocsphpvmscoreclassesTemplate.class.php on line 50 Do I have to delete all the text in the six fields and fill them or should I insert my answer? If so where? What is the database name? Is it the one I created (phpvms) in mysql? Sorry for the wave of problems, that is how novices learn. Thanks and keep the good work up. Regards, ermias
