regional_elite Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 I renumbered all my flights and want to kow how to erase all flights in my system before I upload the new CSV file. How do I do it? Also will this mess up all the pireps I have in the system already? Quote
flyalaska Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 You mean the PIREPS that have been flown? Quote
regional_elite Posted February 7, 2011 Author Report Posted February 7, 2011 No I want to delete every flight in my system. Like all the flights. But I doon't want to lose the pireps that have been filed. Quote
Tom Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 It will mess with your filed pireps, but you can probably just drop the schedules table and reset your auto increment. Quote
regional_elite Posted February 7, 2011 Author Report Posted February 7, 2011 im new to this. could you maybe walk me thru how to do that? Quote
Tom Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 In your cpanel/alternative, go to your phpmyadmin/other database management tool and navigate through to your phpVMS schedules table. There will be an "Empty" button or something similar. If you hit that it will basically remove all records from the table (and here's where it'll mess with the filed PIREPs because they have links and data based on these records). I don't know if resetting your auto increment is advised but I don't seem to have any problems doing it. If you want to, you'll have the option to run SQL somewhere. Run "ALTER TABLE phpvms_schedules AUTO_INCREMENT = 1" (without the quote marks and where phpvms_schedules is your schedules table should the prefix be different). Quote
regional_elite Posted February 8, 2011 Author Report Posted February 8, 2011 sounds really complicated, i may wait till we redo our site and take care of it. that'll be when the new acars comes out. thanks anyways. you can mark this as solved Quote
Michael Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 While we are here... I don't necessarily need to know now, but let's say my real-world counterpart changes up their schedules, and we want to match up with them. If I upload a .csv file, and it has information with the same flight numbers as what is already in the database, but different dep/arr airports, fleet, etc., will it override them, or create duplicate routes... or just send an error? I'm just curious. Quote
Moderators mark1million Posted February 8, 2011 Moderators Report Posted February 8, 2011 OK so if your flight numbers are the same they will just be updated, so if you currently have flights from 1 to 1000 then if you upload the same or more with the flight numbers they will be updated with the new information. No need to delete anything. Quote
