bumblegrum
An airport and its associated Navaids in Australia had their designators officially changed 7 years ago but the kACARS_Free database does not recognise the new designators. The airport was YSCH and is now YCFS. Is there any way this can be corrected and does it indicate that the entire database may need to be re-assessed for accuracy particularly as regards the construction of new airports and the installation of new Navaids? I note also that, according to kACARS_Free, a flight from Sydney to Brisbane - some 600nm shows as something like 9000nm because the program picks up a waypoint in (say) the USA that has the same name as one in Australia. Is there any way this can be addressed? The attached picture shows what is happening. Cheers Brian
Strider
Why you say the error is in kacars_free, kacars_free gets it's info from your site. Also the navdata sql file has known issues. Make sure that the distances in the schedule are correct, if not, run the recalculate distances in the settings>maintenance options section of the admin site. That should fix the distance problem in any schedules. Also if adding the airport using the ICAO code and clicking fetch gets the wrong airport, put it in manually. Search for the name of the airport in google, and get the right details for it.
Guest lorathon
Mr.Bean is correct. This is not an error with kACARS_Free. You will need to update your DB. If you look on my site you can find a sql that will update most of the navdata table. It is not 100% but close. As for the airport, the code for the airport is whatever you input. Change it.
