packo88 Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 I have noticed my fuel price on each pirep is getting higher. is this whats suppose to happen? All my fuel prices are set to 0 but when a flight is done the price comes through at over $700 per Kg Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted June 6, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 6, 2009 It's grabbing the live price most likely. Prices are going up now since it's summer time Quote
packo88 Posted June 7, 2009 Author Report Posted June 7, 2009 Yeah but surely $700 per Kg isn't right. Can it be fixed or can I stop it getting real world prices. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted June 7, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 7, 2009 How much fuel was used? And which airport? Quote
packo88 Posted June 7, 2009 Author Report Posted June 7, 2009 100% of my airports are in Australia and 90% are not Flight Sim default. I have added them all in manually. I thought the Live Fuel Price was for USA only. I haven't got the particular airport and price as I edit them out when I come across them. If I don't my finances take a huge dive. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted June 7, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 7, 2009 Then it won't goto the the lives prices, it's whatever price you've entered into the airport settings Quote
packo88 Posted June 15, 2009 Author Report Posted June 15, 2009 All of my airport fuel price settings are set to zero. This flight was logged with FSAcars and came through with a fuel price of 1282.35 per Kg.. WOW expensive fuel. Administrators Nabeel Posted June 15, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 15, 2009 I'll post a file tomorrow morning, we can see what's going on. But my other question was, is it possible it's calculating the price based on the fuel left? Is it a US airport? A price of 0 will default to looking online Quote
packo88 Posted June 15, 2009 Author Report Posted June 15, 2009 Departing Airport: YMIG Destination Airport: YSCH Both Australian airports. I wouldnt of thought fuel quantity should have anything to do with the kg price. Quote
Moderators joeri Posted June 15, 2009 Moderators Report Posted June 15, 2009 hello dit you changed the units form lb to kg if so you have to recalculate the fuel pricing my va i lokated in the netherlands and here we use around 0.76 as fuel pricing. than you get about for us 23 pireps = 280000€ of fuel paymend (thats aboud 40 hours of flying) after some calculating we thought the price is good. gr joeri Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted June 15, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 15, 2009 Departing Airport: YMIG Destination Airport: YSCH Both Australian airports. I wouldnt of thought fuel quantity should have anything to do with the kg price. It could be using the wrong amount to calculate your total price (the amount left vs the amount used) Anyway, create a file called test.php in the same directory as index.php, and paste this into it: <?php include 'core/codon.config.php'; echo FuelData::GetFuelPrice('YMMV'); And run the file. Replace the YMMV with your airport (the departure in this case) Quote
packo88 Posted June 15, 2009 Author Report Posted June 15, 2009 Have done the test.php and got the answer of 5.10 being the default value. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted June 16, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 16, 2009 Ok, so you have to set the fuel price in the airport dialog box. When you goto airports, select the airport, and set the price there. Or have you done that? Quote
packo88 Posted June 17, 2009 Author Report Posted June 17, 2009 Yes I have done that. All my airports are set to zero. I probably could set them all manually to a figure of say 3.75 and it may fix my issue. But I thought you may want to fault find and fix the problem for future. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted June 17, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 17, 2009 It's because they are set to 0, so it's using the default value from the config file. Set the default fuel price in the local.config.php Quote
packo88 Posted June 17, 2009 Author Report Posted June 17, 2009 hmmmm.. I cant find any settings in the core/local.config.php file to do with fuel cost. Am I looking in the right spot? Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted June 18, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 18, 2009 You have to add it in, the directions are in the post. Copy it from app.config into the local.config Quote
packo88 Posted June 18, 2009 Author Report Posted June 18, 2009 I think I have fudged it as I couldn't find any directions ??? Will let you know how it goes Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted June 18, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 18, 2009 Add this to local.config Config::Set('FUEL_GET_LIVE_PRICE', true); Quote
packo88 Posted June 18, 2009 Author Report Posted June 18, 2009 OK thanks This is what I have added to the local.config # Fuel info /* Default fuel price, for airports that don't have And the surcharge percentage. View the docs for more details about these */ Config::Set('FUEL_DEFAULT_PRICE', '5.10'); Config::Set('FUEL_SURCHARGE', '5'); Config::Set('FUEL_GET_LIVE_PRICE', true); Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted June 19, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 19, 2009 Looks good, You can set it to false so it only uses your price you set Quote
packo88 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 I set it to false and i am still getting stupidly high fuel prices ???. As I am only after a fixed fuel price i have changed all my airports to a price of 3.75 per Kg of fuel. I will do a few test flights and see what happens now. Quote

Administrators Nabeel Posted June 26, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 26, 2009 As in, what's "stupidly high". What's an airport example and what's your default price in the local.config? Quote
packo88 Posted June 26, 2009 Author Report Posted June 26, 2009 Config::Set('FUEL_DEFAULT_PRICE', '5.10'); Config::Set('FUEL_SURCHARGE', '5'); Config::Set('FUEL_GET_LIVE_PRICE', false); ALL of my airports airports have a fuel price set at 3.75 When a PIREP is files via FSAcars the fuel price comes in at anywhere from $200 to $2000 per kg sending the VA finances into a steep downward spiral making running a financialy viable VA an impossibility. I don’t know what else to do. At the moment I have to edit every pirep that is filed just to stay afloat. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted June 27, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 27, 2009 So give me some examples of the fuel used, and your prices, and we can step through and see what's happening. The prices sounds about right, though, are you sure it's per kg? That price that's shown in the PIREP is the *total* fuel cost, not per kg (it's labeled wrong, I'll double check this) Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted June 27, 2009 Administrators Report Posted June 27, 2009 Yes, just co nfirmed. It's labelled wrong. That's the total cost of fuel for that flight Quote
packo88 Posted June 27, 2009 Author Report Posted June 27, 2009 OK knowing the labelling is wrong makes a bit of sense but still something is wrong with my financials. I just accepted 8 pireps of quite small flights in light aircraft and I looked at fuel usage and the figure that is labelled wrong and looks to be correct with the fuel price I have set equalling the total fuel cost for the flight. After excepting all flights I checked the fuel costs for the month of June in the admin finacial section. Fuel had blown out to ($ -3,339,089,855.00) I went back and checked the PIREP FSAcars log and noticed that the fuel is recorded in Lbls and not Kg. Could this have something to do with it? Quote
packo88 Posted June 27, 2009 Author Report Posted June 27, 2009 After seeing that huge fuel price I used the maintenance section in the admin and reset PIREP finances. Now my fuel price for the month of June is $0.00 Does this make any sense to you Nabeel? Quote
