CrashGordon Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 I need some ideas for the simplest way to disolay rosters, hubs, fleet and routes on our site. As administrator, I can see all these things, but to diisplay the information on the site, I need to do something that someone who is no a php proficient person can cobble together. Any suggestions. or have I missed something really obvious? Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted July 20, 2009 Administrators Report Posted July 20, 2009 Just link to the vms pages which show it? Or what exactly are you trying to do Quote
CrashGordon Posted July 20, 2009 Author Report Posted July 20, 2009 I was thinking of a page that would always display routes...for public consumption just the route number, airports and aircraft, possibly in some type of timetable format. It isn't a must have, right now. I'm still trying to get data entered. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted July 20, 2009 Administrators Report Posted July 20, 2009 The default schedule page isn't what you're looking for? http://www.phpvms.net/test/index.php/schedules Quote
CrashGordon Posted July 20, 2009 Author Report Posted July 20, 2009 Except that it takes 4 or 5 lines for what can be done in one. The story of my life can be seen in the fact that I bought a wide screen monitor, just at the time everyone started producing web sites that only use the center third of the space available. ;D Oh dear, I might get yelled at for this one, but I find something very curious. Humans generally look for things in alphabetical order, but that list appears to be in reverse alpha-order. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted July 21, 2009 Administrators Report Posted July 21, 2009 It's sorted by flight number But you can customize that view by modifying the template (schedule_results.tpl), and compress it down to one line. Every view is a template, which is 90% HTML that you can customize however you like There's some video tutorials which explain everything, spend an hour or so with it, it should be pretty familiar at the end of that and the tutorials And hey, that happens to me too. I am working on the vaCentral site, and it's annoying how I can't use the entire width.. well, one day Quote
CrashGordon Posted July 21, 2009 Author Report Posted July 21, 2009 I've looked at some and will do more, today. This is the default sort on my site. I didn't modify anything. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted July 23, 2009 Administrators Report Posted July 23, 2009 Just checked the code, there's no sort order. So I guess you entered them into the database that way Quote
CrashGordon Posted July 23, 2009 Author Report Posted July 23, 2009 Almost, but there are a couple not in that order. If you decide to sort them, my vote is for sorting on ICAO code. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted July 25, 2009 Administrators Report Posted July 25, 2009 which icao? Quote
CrashGordon Posted July 26, 2009 Author Report Posted July 26, 2009 Logically, I think departure ICAO. Quote
