Sent the log from the site and acars as requested.
Funny thing is that I had done a different flight in between this particular flight that was still connected, if you know what I mean.

I have noticed the when starting Acars it seems to be still connected to the last flight and sometimes can lead to the Aircraft still showing on the live map.
This happens even when you complete the flight and send the pirep.
It does not happen all the time and may be connected to the main site with a flight.
If I get more examples and data I will post it.

Hi,
I wanted to check if this is a bug before I even try going to the Github page.
I have found that in some places you cannot delete an entry that you have saved and now want to remove it. I have two examples.
Example 1
1) Edit a User allocating a role for example Flight Editor (Created in Roles) and save. He has access to flights
2) Now go back into the same user and press the little x to delete that role and save.
3) Go back into the User again you will find the he still has flight editor and access.
Note this is the only entry in that field so it is not allowing you to return it to the previous empty state.
In this example I wanted to stop a guy editing so the only was was to create a role with no permissions which I called null user then added that instead of flight editor.
Example 2
1) When entering a flight recently I entered a Monday in the optional day field.
2) I went back in and pressed the little x to remove Monday and saved
3) When I went back into the flight the Monday entry is still there. I tried three times.
In the end I deleted the flight and started again.
It seems that both these fields do not like it to be empty once used.
Or am I doing something wrong.

Hi,
I have phpVMS set to email me with system notices which is just fine, however my VA CEO is also getting emails for every pirep submitted as well as me. His email is only entered in his user profile.
Is this because I made him an administrator also ?
Is there a way to stop him being emailed.

We had a few problems installing until the developer sent me a version that worked straight off. He said that there had been a lot of changes.
I sent him a ticket.

phpVMS v7 will be supported for some time to come. Previously versions will still work, but no further development will take place by the original developer. At some point, previous versions may experience issues and/or stop working due to advances in versions of PHP and MySQL/MariaDB.
If you are starting with phpVMS from scratch, my personally opinion is to start with V7. Coming from another platform will present challenges as the data available won't be the same.

We were not aware of the situation regarding this software and just ordered hosting and downloaded what we thought was available. The developer was kind enough to send me a link to the current version.
We have a site on older software (VAM) which we plan to move from by probably March next year, so we have continued to build and test V7 and ride out some of the issues.
The hosting is with phpVMS so I just went with what came with V7 and so far it seems to be ok.
We are on a very steep learning curve and for now will see what happens.
I will still research what you have linked to me, however one of the reason for moving is that our current system is also unsupported by its developer, in fact he has stopped any development so the is little or no future with that system.

Hi all,
I have added a skin to our phpVMS v7 site and it works. But is there a simple way to change colours and images to fit our airline. DO you use an application ?? I can see colour codes in the files but where do they come from.
I am completely new at this last time I made a website you could use MS Publisher to make pages, LOL

Solved it, you have to setup the role with admin panel access and the role required. So Flights editor role would need Admin panel selected and also Flights editor selected.

Thanks for input.
Just to be clear as an example lets just take Flights.
I go into roles create a Flight editor role and select "Flights - create/edit Flights" tick box and Save. If you go back in it is not selected so you have to select again then save and it does stay ticked the second time. (does this for all the roles)
Then you then edit the user and add the role of flight editor to the role box and save.
If you then log in as that user you do not have access to flights.
It is the same with all the roles you setup, only the default admin user actually works.
I think it is a bug, I have no idea how to report it I don't understand the Github.

Thanks for that bit of information, that is helpful. Its just difficult making a decision when you don't know the facts, do we go back and build around the older version or push on with v7. We are seeing a few bugs at the moment but in the main it seems to run fine.

Hi,
We were starting to copy over our History and rules but for some reason we cannot save much text in a page. Most times it is not even a sentence it just loses the pasted text leaving a short sentence.
I have tried creating a test page and typing characters down the page but cannot save more than a line or two.
Is there a limit on these pages or is there a system of entering or is this a bug.
Check the pages on www.cyber-air.org
It is the same which ever skin we use.
I have tried it on the demo site and it is the same, I copied the notice and asked it twice and it cut it down to one line.
I have seen nothing on Github. Using phpVMS 7.0.0 -dev

Hi all,
Having got things up and running we wanted to set up the roles so people could access certain area's without having full access to the admin area.
I set up a series of roles for flights and airport and other area's, I then added them to various users, however those users do not get access to those area's. The only way is to give them admin panel access. Which means they have access to all the admin area which we do not want.
I have tested this on a new user and unless I give them admin accesss they cannot edit anything.
What am I doing wrong.
I have checked Github but there is nothing in there. Using phpVMS 7.0.0 -dev

We try to import in phpvms7 but the system crash.
So at the moment every pilot in our VA is free to fly from everywhere ti everywhere without limitation to schedulate flight and i m asking if is possible.
Also have the problem with the bids...when i try to load the bids, in acars, i have the error of "no aircraft available for this flight" ,but if i try to search the same flight without bids, i can try to fly it with the error of time and date in the description.

Hi,
We re using VAM also, but I exported the Airport database from VAM then edited it to remove loads of tiny airport and places without correct coding. This reduced us down to 7400 airport which I managed to import into the system with out any problem.
Best think to do is to enter one airport with the code then look it up. Then export to a CSV file and you can get the structure set to put your data from VAM into.
Then once it is all sorted and tidy sport it to a csv file and import into PHPVMS.
After that I spend the odd 20 minutes or so just checking each airport to get timezone and correct details, its going to take a while to go through 7400.
As for ACARS I have just set the flight to charter when no flight is in the system and it seems to work fine.

Hi all,
We are very new to this system, our current system is on VAM which is now unsupported by the original developer. So we were looking to build a new site to move too over the next few months.
I setup hosting and installed phpVMS, I used the vs7 from the developer and also purchased the Acars module.
I have now had a few comments saying that we should use phpVMS v5 as that is the current software.
Most of you have been around here for a while so should we push on with 7 or drop back to 5.
