  2. It seems so simple, yet I have to ask... =)
  3. I went ahead and switched hosts. I register all of my domains with GoDaddy, just to keep them in one place. I tried out their hosting, and it was sub-par, at least compared to what I'm used to. I went ahead and switched to another host, and everything should work fine now. I'm uploading the files, will post if I have any other issues. Thanks. /edit It's all working properly now. Avoid GoDaddy.
  4. I figured that would be the case. Any pointers on how I would approach them with this subject? I'm not sure where to begin my thought process, haha.
  5. This looks great! I came across this earlier today, don't know if it is appealing to you or not. There is also a downloadable version.
  6. Hello, I will get right into it - I downloaded and installed phpVMS earlier today, and everything seemed to go fine. That is, until the installation was complete, and I went to go log into the administration area. I noticed that when I went to login, or click on any link for that fact (with the exception of the home page link), I was taken to an error page. For Chrome, they show as a broken link, and in Firefox, I get this error message, "No input file specified." phpVMS Build Number: 934 Checking PHP version [OK] PHP version is 5.2.14.x ASP Tags [OK] ASP-style tags are disabled Checking connectivity... I used phpVMS a while back on a project that never quite got off of the ground, in case you recognize me or my project. I was doing wonders with it, and hope to continue past this roadblock to do it again. Thanks =) /edit - fixed the incorrect link.

    Obsess Blue

OMG I just found an opportunity to maybe contribute... YAY! Anyway, I have experience dealing with this template. I used it to make a site just a little while back. Someone might notice that the header "MAIN MENU" on the sidebar is not formatted the same as the others down the list. It's a simple error made by the original creator of the template, and it can be fixed by adding one character to the code. So, find this in header.tpl: <div class="mc01t"> MAIN MENU </div> And add the number two to the end of the div class, so it reads: <div class="mc01t2"> MAIN MENU </div>
  8. I noticed something today, and thought I'd come to the forum here and see if anyone else had brought it up and maybe shared a few good laughs with everyone else, but I couldn't find anything. I like the randomly generated Airplane! quotes in the Admin footer. Very clever easter egg I wouldn't have noticed if my Internet connection wouldn't have hit a snag and stuck with the footer in my face.

    Acars Map

Ooh! My turn! Sorry to bombard you all with questions and thread takeovers... After a considerable amount of time of yelling "NO" and "ALMOST" at Google Maps, I've found the center point for my map. However, no matter how I try to alter the zoom level, I still have to zoom out two clicks to get it to where I want it. You can see my map here, and the code in local.config.php is: Config::Set('MAP_CENTER_LAT', '18.062312'); Config::Set('MAP_CENTER_LNG', '-114.464844'); Config::Set('MAP_ZOOM_LEVEL', 10); I don't remember the default zoom level, but I've tried changing it as is and putting ' ' around it, but it won't nudge. I'm looking to see pieces of Asia, Australia, USA, and the important parts of Europe (pertaining to my VA). [EDIT] My apologies, I just realized this isn't in the Support area.
  10. Will do! Thanks a bunch.
  11. Quick question, I apologize if this has already been addressed, but I'm curious to know if I can reset the Pilot ID's to start back at 0002. I created two test pilots to see if the registration emails showed okay (which they did, yay), and I noticed it assigned the second test pilot 0003, even though I had deleted 0002. Any way? Alternatively, I can reassign these numbers to future members of staff, but will it re-use the numbers that it initially assigns them when they sign up? Thanks!
  12. I realize this is a month or so old, but I'm curious how things went/are going for you? This is something that has interested me in the past. I've tinkered with Reseller Hosting and Cpanel and WHMCS and all that fun stuff, but only as a hobby. Do you have access to decent Internet speeds? I thought about my own servers, but my provider's highest package offers max 15MB Download 1MB Upload /s speeds, and I don't think that is sufficient enough. And, to heck with outrageous AT&T or Centrylink prices!
  13. Yeah, I found it. After I changed it, I didn't know if I like it any better, but I figured after searching for it, I'd just leave it. Didn't take long at all to figure out how everything is laid out. I'm on a roll! I figured it would take some time to set things up. At the pace I'm going now, in the same amount of time, I'm either going to run out of things to do, or I'm going to beat my expectations. Or, maybe I'll be done early, who knows. I've been coming over to the forum when I get tired at staring at the code and such (remember, I really don't know what I'm doing). I'm learning a lot, fast! Thanks a bunch for the help.
  14. I'm actually using Dreamweaver to do the tweaking, and I think I'm catching on. I think I was used to one headache, and didn't want to risk another one. But, this isn't as complicated as I thought it would be, which is a releaf. I'm still trying to figure out a few things, but I think I can figure most of it out. PS - How do I get the navigation links to have first letter capitol? =) Thanks again.
  15. Hey, I appreciate the replies. I'm going to look into skinning... I think I get too impatient, but I'm going to take the time to read up on it and tinker around. Again, much apreciated.
  16. Forgive me if I've created a thread someone's already started, but I can't find information about what I'm specifically looking for. Hopefully you guys can help! If I understand correctly, phpVMS is supposed to be the full package - you upload it to the root of your website, customize the looks of it, and BAM! you've got yourself an operational virtual airline complete with everything a pilot or admin needs to keep it running. I love what I've seen so far because I know this is a powerful tool, and I didn't even have to pay for it! But, I want to use phpVMS separately from my main site (if I'm saying that right). I have a look I'm going for, and I'm not sure I'm good enough to manipulate a skin to fit phpVMS. I want to use the pilot center, but I would also like to use information generated by phpVMS elsewhere. So, what I'm wanting to do is bring elements and put them on various parts of my site, like what I've already done with the login feature on the main sidebar. When you aren't logged in to the Pilot Center, you get this: And when you are logged in, this shows: It works great. When you login, it takes you to the pilot center, which is what I want. But, as you navigate away from the pilot center onto the main part of the site, your information goes with you. Now, instead of updating index.php every time I post a new news post or want to get a different message across the home page, I would like to post the News feature in phpVMS. I'll admit real quick that I'm good at recognizing what code does what, and I can manipulate it to work properly, but I really don't know squat, and the code is where I'm having the issue. Here is what I used when I put in the pilot/login information: Lines 3-9 <?php ob_start(); include_once realpath(dirname(__FILE__)."/pilots/core/codon.config.php"); ?> Lines 169 - 218 <?php /* Quick example of how to see if they're logged in or not Only show this login form if they're logged in */ if(Auth::LoggedIn() == false) { ?> <form name="loginform" action="http://simulatedvirgin.com/pilots/index.php/login" method="post"> <p></p> <p><br /> <strong>Pilot ID</strong> <em>or</em> <strong>Email</strong>:<br /> <input type="text" name="email" onClick="this.value=''" /> </p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Password</strong>:<br /><input type="password" name="password" value="" /><br /><br /> <input type="hidden" name="remember" value="on" /> <input type="hidden" name="redir" value="index.php/profile" /> <input type="hidden" name="action" value="login" /> <input type="submit" name="submit" class="button" value="Log In" /> </p> </form> </div> <?php } /* End the Auth::LoggedIn() if */ else /* else - they're logged in, so show some info about the pilot, and a few links */ { /* Auth::$userinfo has the information about the user currently logged in We will use this next line - this gets their full pilot id, formatted properly */ $pilotid = PilotData::GetPilotCode(Auth::$userinfo->code, Auth::$userinfo->pilotid); ?> <img align="left" height="50px" width="50px" style="margin-right: 10px;" src="<?php echo PilotData::getPilotAvatar($pilotid);?>" /> <strong>Pilot ID: </strong> <?php echo $pilotid ; ?><br /> <strong>Rank: </strong><?php echo Auth::$userinfo->rank;?><br /> <strong>Total Flights: </strong><?php echo Auth::$userinfo->totalflights?> <br /> <strong>Total Hours: </strong><?php echo Auth::$userinfo->totalhours;?> <br /><br /><br /></div> <dl class="nav3-grid"> <dt><a href="<?php echo url('/pireps/new');?>">File a New PIREP</a></dt> <dt><a href="<?php echo url('/schedules/bids');?>">View My Bids</a></dt> <dt><a href="<?php echo url('/profile/');?>">View Pilot Center</a></dt> <dt><a href="http://simulatedvirgin.com/pilots/index.php/logout">Logout</a></dt> </dl> <?php } /* End the else */ ?> Now, that works. But, when I add the following to the same page as to integrate the News feature, I get an error: <? class News extends CodonModule { public function index() { $this->ShowNewsFront(5); } // This function gets called directly in the template public function ShowNewsFront($count=5) { $sql='SELECT id, subject, body, postedby, UNIX_TIMESTAMP(postdate) AS postdate FROM ' . TABLE_PREFIX .'news ORDER BY postdate DESC LIMIT '.$count; $res = DB::get_results($sql); if(!$res) return; foreach($res as $row) { //TODO: change the date format to a setting in panel $this->set('subject', $row->subject); $this->set('body', $row->body); $this->set('postedby', $row->postedby); $this->set('postdate', date(DATE_FORMAT, $row->postdate)); $this->show('news_newsitem.tpl'); } } } ?> And the error is: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class News in /homepages/11/d329479458/htdocs/index.php on line 242 I'll admit to copy and pasting. But, I'd like to know what exactly is going wrong... maybe it won't work altogether? Anyway, here's what the site looks like. The link is in my signature, but the look and circumstance may change. Am I making sense? I know this is one little issue, but I see it repeating itself as the code all looks similar. Thanks for your time!
  17. EDIT: Fixed! Here's what I did: I created a .htaccess file which contained the following and uploaded it to the root of my website. Went back to the installer, and all is working well. Thanks, hope this can help someone!
  18. I've done that once, but I'll do it again and report back.
  19. Certainly. Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /homepages/11/d329479458/htdocs/pilots/core/classes/CodonWebService.class.php on line 42 I hope your smartness understands that better than mine! =)
  20. Hello, I didn't want to create another post regarding the same matter, but I am having this issue as well. I uploaded the files via FileZilla to the directory, /pilots, and when I went to go and do the installation, I received this error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '.', expecting '(' in /homepages/11/d329479458/htdocs/pilots/install/install.php on line 63 It also shows the same error with the /pilots/index.php file, and those are the only two I have tried. Any ideas? Thank you.
