CPC900 Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Does the aircraft icon show the direction in FS Acars, or is that a future function? Mine shows the same icon direction. but I see there are different icons for every possible direction. Am I missing something?? (probably am ) Bruce Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted December 19, 2009 Administrators Report Posted December 19, 2009 It should be showing the heading, yes. FSACARS doesn't report it, so I just try to calculate it Quote
CPC900 Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 Ok, I can NEVER see any change to direction to the icon. It always points SSE it seems. I have seen other sites show a different direction, so I assume I must be missing something here?!!? Quote
CPC900 Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 I took a peek at "http://citybird-va.ccvagroup.org/index.php/acars" and their a/c shows a correct direction. Any ideas? Quote
Moderators joeri Posted January 5, 2010 Moderators Report Posted January 5, 2010 yes indeed thay use xacars or fsflightkeeper to track the flight gr joeri Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted January 5, 2010 Administrators Report Posted January 5, 2010 For FSACARS, it doesn't supply a heading so I have to calculate it, so it was always point towards the destination airport's coordinates Quote
CPC900 Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 Ok, so Xacars is a better option then?! I used it before, but it kept crashing my FSX. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted January 6, 2010 Administrators Report Posted January 6, 2010 Honestly, both XAcars and FSACARS are flaky. Xacars gives better flight tracking, but not flight logs. FSACARS gives great logs, but crappy tracking. I use FS Flight Keeper, it works much better. Quote
CPC900 Posted January 6, 2010 Author Report Posted January 6, 2010 Yes, I agree....FS Flight Keeper is awesome for that, but a lot of people DO NOT use it unfortunately. Quote
