dimitris Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Hello! I would like to update phpvms to latest Rev v2.1.934-158-g60320ae but I have edit my site like hell and not only the public side but also the admin side. Not only the tpls but also a huge amount of classes/modules and the databse tables. I believe that updating will screw up every single file which will result to a boring process of restoring backup. What do you think? Will it work or it will screw up ? Thanks! Quote
Strider Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Most likely screw it up. As the php files get replaced by updated ones or just get updated, and they will overwrite any existing ones. Tbh it is never a good idea to have a beta as a production site, as there can be problems, that make it look bad, and it will only hurt your members. Quote
dimitris Posted August 24, 2011 Author Report Posted August 24, 2011 Yea that is what I also think... For the beta version I f*****g need the function for the pilot status: (Banned,On leav etc) Quote
Strider Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 First off, no need to curse ok. Secondly you can code it yourself, if your anyway decent at coding. Quote
dimitris Posted August 24, 2011 Author Report Posted August 24, 2011 I didn't wanted to curse and I apologies for that. But I was angry because it wasn't working (self coded). Quote
Moderators joeri Posted August 24, 2011 Moderators Report Posted August 24, 2011 maby something to try its a bigg workaround but doable download the full site to local. backup database update to beta and look whats different, and then reimplement the diffentet thing back from the downloaded site Quote
