[SOLVED] Page edit in admin panel permission error

Hello,

This evening I tried to edit one of my pages by the admin panel and the following error occurred when I tried to save the page:

Warning: fopen(/home/bmibaby/public_html/core/pages/staffteam.htm) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/bmibaby/public_html/core/common/SiteData.class.php on line 258

Any idea what I can do to sort this?

See if the file has the permission to read?

The permissions are: 6 4 4

Sorry to bump an old thread but I am still having real issues with this. Could anyone give me some advice on what I could do to fix this problem?

Permissions for the folder pages should be 777

also 777 on any files inside of the pages folder

Thanks for the reply. It is set to 777 with no difference. If I go into the pages folder and manually edit it there is no problem and it saves. Only a permission error if I do it through the admin panel which is strange.

Any other advice would be hugely appreciated.

Problem fixed. Permissions on one of the folders wasn't 777 and that was stopping it, thanks everyone for your help!
