freshJet Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 I want to make an RSS Feed for latest news. This is my code: lib/rss/latestnews.rss

Latest News

All the latest news from freshJet

<?php echo PopUpNews::GetFieldValue($popupnews->subject);?>

<?php echo PopUpNews::GetFieldValue($popupnews->body);?>

http://www.freshjetvirtual.com/index.php/PopUpNews/popupnewsitem/?itemid=<?php echo PopUpNews::GetFieldValue($popupnews->id);?>

<?php echo PopUpNews::GetFieldValue($popupnews->postdate);?>

It won't work. I've got a channel but no content. Does the PHP not work because it's external? Quote

Strider Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 Look at how the default RSS feeds are made in the lib/rss folder and copy them. Quote
freshJet Posted November 12, 2011 Author Report Posted November 12, 2011 That's how I did it, but they show the actual output if you know what I mean - not the PHP codes. Quote
Moderators mark1million Posted November 13, 2011 Moderators Report Posted November 13, 2011 Take a look in the core/common/RSSFeed.class.php Quote
freshJet Posted November 13, 2011 Author Report Posted November 13, 2011 OK still not sure what it actually means though... Quote
Daniel Gallagher Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Has anyone actually got this working? I would quite like to know how to do it... Quote
freshJet Posted November 30, 2011 Author Report Posted November 30, 2011 I think I see what's happening. The PHP in the RSSFeed.class.php works so that when you view the RSS files in lib/rss, they are shown in their output form. So it's impossible to know what the source code is to make a new one. Help!!! Quote
