new domain problems

I have bought a new domain for my airline but i haven't got a clue how to get it to work. I bought my domain through daily.co.uk and my hosting

is through fivedev.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

do you not get a domain name through fivedev. if you pay for hosting you should get a free domain

Set your nameservers with your domain provider to ns1.fivedev.net and ns2.fivedev.net

Providing you've got that domain set up as the default on your hosting it should just work.

My domain isn't set up as the default one, my old domain is.

I have set the name servers as ns1.fivedev.net & ns2.fivedev.net and added my new domain domain to my fivedev cpanel.

When i type the website address in its not going to my website.

How long ago did you update the nameservers? It takes a little while for them to propagate.

Only a couple of hours maybe i'll try leaving them longer?

You need to let them stay in there as thats what will keep your site up. nameservers can take some time (up to 24hours) to start to work.

If your hosting is not set up for the new domain it is not ever going to connect.

One of two things need to be done;

1 - You could add an add-on domain using your cpanel but when a user hits your site the url in the browser bar will change back to the old domain.

2 - Get your host to reset the Virtual Host file and use your new domain name as the primary domain(The best way IMO)

My hosting is with fivedev i was told just to add the domain in the cpanel.

You can just add it as an addon domain, that'll work fine.
