Oh yep, I plan to add categories to sort forums I'm at a point where I think the categories are done, the forums can all be put into categories, and admin categories are only available to admins and moderators. I have to add the sorting now, and sort a few issues with access to threads within admin-only forums.

Thank you both! I've tinkered with the image loading a little so hopefully it should be overall faster. I'm also working on putting pagination in. I've not done pagination before and it's already turning out to be a pain Edit: Added pagination now. You're right though it was worth the work Looks really nice.

Thought I'd just update on the news a little: We're seeking hub managers We have opted for two hubs in the US - one in the east and one in the west, however we would like the feedback from potential managers as to where exactly. We invite anyone to apply. We would prefer a good knowledge of the US, Canada and Mexico, especially as we will be deciding our hubs based on this knowledge. If you wish to apply please join on the site and post in the forums just to introduce yourself and say a little about the two airports you would suggest. To clarify - we are looking for two managers - one for each of the hubs.

Try using both <link rel="icon"... and <link rel="shortcut icon"... Oh and to clarify, the example I mentioned first was for a .png file. Here's the code for an .ico: <link rel="icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon"> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon">

In your layout.tpl, inside the <head></head> section, add the following: <link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="http://example.com/myicon.png"> Replacing the URL with your own.

It will be on it's way. I actually coded it completely for my own site beforehand but now I need to tweak it slightly. Life is a tad busy at the moment with Uni applications and everything, but it will happen

I believe it's in fact due to this: Find: .nav ul a { border: 1px solid #cccccc; border-bottom: 0; padding-right: 20px; width: 150px; white-space: nowrap; } Replace: .nav ul a { border: 1px solid #cccccc; padding-right: 20px; width: 150px; white-space: nowrap; } It's a nice design, shame you aren't supporting IE though - it's still got around 46% of users.
-
No, doing that is not going to get you far. Just don't be so aggressive with your wording. Oh and... Uh?

Try this: ul#css3menu{ background-color:#05A2EA;background-image:url("data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAEAAADICAYAAAAp8ov1AAAAAXNSR0IArs4c6QAAAAZiS0dEAAAAAAAA+UO7fwAAAAlwSFlzAAALEwAACxMBAJqcGAAAAAd0SU1FB9oJGA41KpTYroIAAACASURBVCjP7ZE7DsJADESfJiL37znNXoJLUNARa7Ni6Bw5AtFEqXAx8vj/wfZNwBBAakPAWukQEJUu1RGVLt9su4yo9eJ3t0FrDWyTg58HezlujFPE9lXAQ8BdQM93R9LtM2ve/vnB22tcF/DaTpItJwHKVWcBk4BLwlw1/nAUvAGm30u0udPq+QAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==");background-repeat:repeat;background-position:0 0; }

If you are looking for the phpVMS admin panel it's at http:// www . com/admin/ And you need to be logged in as an administrator beforehand.
-
Refer to the divs you intend to style with classes or ID's rather than styling all instances of an element. e.g. #header and #nav and so on.
-
Most people make their own pilot centres from scratch. I don't believe there are any pilot centres available separately. P.S. after all that effort to hide your name you left it in the second shot

Nice skin! Good work so far. I'm just looking at the element inspector in Google Chrome (Very useful tool for web developers ) and it seems the problem is coming from the following: #content div { float: left; padding: 10px; } in styles.css
-
Your survey has an error.
-
Check all the files have been successfully uploaded, http://klmvirtual.com/lib/skins/ObessBlue/styles.css doesn't seem to exist.
-
Ok, so ordering them on the page? Consider it on the list.
-
For the login you can use the example from the default skin: <div id="topLogin"> <?php /* Quick example of how to see if they're logged in or not Only show this login form if they're logged in */ if(Auth::LoggedIn() == false) { ?> <form name="loginform" action="<?php echo url('/login'); ?>" method="post"> Sign-in with your pilot id or email, or <a href="<?php echo url('/registration'); ?>">register</a><br /> <input type="text" name="email" value="" onClick="this.value=''" /> <input type="password" name="password" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="remember" value="on" /> <input type="hidden" name="redir" value="index.php/profile" /> <input type="hidden" name="action" value="login" /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Log In" /> </form> <?php } /* End the Auth::LoggedIn() if */ else /* else - they're logged in, so show some info about the pilot, and a few links */ { /* Auth::$userinfo has the information about the user currently logged in We will use this next line - this gets their full pilot id, formatted properly */ $pilotid = PilotData::GetPilotCode(Auth::$userinfo->code, Auth::$userinfo->pilotid); ?> <img align="left" height="50px" width="50px" style="margin-right: 10px;" src="<?php echo PilotData::getPilotAvatar($pilotid);?>" /> <strong>Pilot ID: </strong> <?php echo $pilotid ; ?> <strong>Rank: </strong><?php echo Auth::$userinfo->rank;?><br /> <strong>Total Flights: </strong><?php echo Auth::$userinfo->totalflights?>, <strong>Total Hours: </strong><?php echo Auth::$userinfo->totalhours;?> <br /> <a href="<?php echo url('/pireps/new');?>">File a New PIREP</a> | <a href="<?php echo url('/schedules/bids');?>">View My Bids</a> | <a href="<?php echo url('/profile/');?>">View Pilot Center</a> <?php } /* End the else */ ?> </div> And for your sidebars, you'll need to do that with div's, for example, your HTML: <div id="content"> <div id="left">Left sidebar</div> <div id="mid">Middle content</div> <div id="right">Right sidebar</div> </div> And then in the CSS: #content{width:960px;} #left{width:200px;float:left;} #mid{width:560px;float:left;} #right{width:200px;float:left;} Obviously that's a very basic example, but you can develop it from that.
-
Do you have a link to take a look at it? It's difficult to tell you what it is from an image.
-
That would all need to go into layout.tpl with the additions as above, and where "NAVBAR HERE" is, you would put: <? Template::Show('core_navigation.tpl'); ?> and have all the code for your navigation in that file (there's some example links already in there). Unless you have a no attribution license, remember to include the link back to phpvms: <a href="http://www.phpvms.net" target="_blank">powered by phpVMS</a>

Hello, to update your existing install all you need to do is upload the new code. I haven't made any SQL changes yet, but when I do I'll be sure to include an update file as well.

Also, unless you've bought a no attribution license you have to keep the link back to phpVMS.

Now you need to add the following: <title><?php echo $page_title; ?></title> (for the title) <? echo $page_htmlhead; ?> (before </head>) <? echo $page_htmlreq; ?> (after <body>) <? Template::Show('core_navigation.tpl'); ?> (To show your navigation, the HTML for your links will go in core_navigation.tpl - there's already some in there) and finally: <? echo $page_content; ?> Put that wherever you want the page content to appear. Also, you've put a second <head> section within the body. This needs to be removed and the content moved up into the first <head> section.
-
You'll want to use layout.tpl rather than header.tpl etc. If you aren't already, make sure you're using the most up to date version. Most of your HTML goes into layout.tpl - there are a few bits of php you need to put in: <title><?php echo $page_title; ?></title> (for the title) <? echo $page_htmlhead; ?> (before </head>) <? echo $page_htmlreq; ?> (after <body>) <? Template::Show('core_navigation.tpl'); ?> (To show your navigation, the HTML for your links will go in core_navigation.tpl - there's already some in there) and finally: <? echo $page_content; ?> Put that wherever you want the page content to appear.
