To be honest you aren't exactly in a position where you can get in trouble for allowing someone under 13 on your website. The only reason most airlines have such an age restriction is, as I said, for maturity etc.

Yes CHMOD 777, and that mysql error... check your database information is correct and if you're using "localhost" you could try using the IP instead. Not 100% sure.

Make a blank file called local.config.php and upload it to the /core/ folder. Make sure the file is writable, and when you install it will generate the config for you.

Forums generally say 13.. There's some thing out there, don't remember what it's called.. but it normally comes with forums etc where they have to say they're over 13 or get an adult to fill in a form saying they'll allow their child to visit the site. But you can say whatever you want, there's no legal age limit to using the internet or a flight sim, and unless you're posting things of an adult nature there's no reason they cant join. Most professional airlines will say 16 to ensure maturity and responsibility around the Airline.

If you can't find core_navigation.tpl or something similarly named (Navigation, nav etc) check in the header.tpl. Else yes, ask.

In the crystal skin it's in core_navigation.tpl In other skins it could be anywhere...

The emails stopped not long after the problem was reported for me... I just wasn't here to say so. The forums have been switched to IP Board as the no-reply email was only used for the forums so there was a suspected security problem. Should all be fine now I haven't had anything.

Whatever language you wish to use. You'd be best off using html with css... And the files have to be .tpl files (e.g. crystal skin folder).

Well... You pay £2 for a sandwich over here, when you can make the same yourself for £0.40, but it saves you the time, effort and skill. That's what the tertiary (services) sector of the economy is all about. Jus' saying. Oh also, that's ridiculously cheap. A skin on any other site will cost you upwards of $70 for something like a wordpress. Oh and in response to the below post, because I can't be bothered posting again... It was converted from british pounds. It makes no difference where you are.

It's like a user rating system. Each user gets 1 karma to send per day (I believe) or at least a certain amount of hours. If someone makes a good or useful post you can click "Up" next to their karma, and it will go up. If they make a horrible or useless post you can click "Down" and it shall decrease. It also helps reduce the amount of silly one word posts like "Yeah" or "Dumb" etc.

I use Wordpress. It's simple, easy to use and very very customisable. I've heard Joomla is quite good as well but it looks a little cluttered to me. The problem with smaller less known ones, such as eZ Publish as you mentioned, is that you are unlikely to get as many good quality plugins/addons.

Make a skin/theme for SMF and include your header html at the top. Make sure you don't lift it straight from your phpvms template though, you'll need to remove any phpvms php code and in some cases change links.

Erm.. what? I was telling you what the problem is... the file is missing, you probably need to reupload it (do it again).

Looks like header.tpl is missing, should just be a case of reuploading that file.
