Redbeard
Good evening all, just popping in to ask a question before I get to bed. Setting up a new installation for a friend of mine and I am having a hell of a time finding an ACARS that will work. The VA is new and he doesn't want to invest financially just yet. Anyway, I digress. I settled on trying cACARS since kACARS isn't available anymore, and am getting errors stating that it is unable to connect. I will provide the need stats below: PHPVMS Version: 5.5.2.72 PHP Version: 7.2 Hosting: Namecheap.com Stellar Paid Package cACARS Installed Client Version: 1.03 cACARS Module Version: 1.0 (in <phpvms root>/core/modules) Root Site URL: https://usvaf.ml PHP Installation Folder: https://usvaf.ml/phpvms/ I have attempted the following as the site URL when attempting to log in to cACARS: http://usvaf.ml (with and without trailing slash) https://usvaf.ml (with and without trailing slash) http://usvaf.ml/phpvms (with and without trailing slash) https://usvaf.ml/phpvms (with and without trailing slash) I have searched the forums specifically and then the internet at large trying to find a solution to this but have thus far been completely unable to do so. Any assistance that you folks can render, I would appreciate. I can provide screen shots of my errors as soon as I have the free time. -Cass EDIT: Could it have anything to do with PHPVMS being installed in a folder off of root as compared to being in a subdomain or installed in the web root? Just laying in bed and that popped into my head. Edited December 26, 2020 by Redbeard
Administrators ProAvia Posted December 26, 2020 Administrators Report Share Posted December 26, 2020 Have you checked the error logs? Did you modify the cacars files in any way? Make sure error reporting is on. Make sure there is an error_log file in thephpvms and phpvms/admin folders What is ERROR_LEVEL set to in local.config? Change back to the default crystal skin and try it again.

I have not modified cacars. Downloaded fresh from CC, along with the module at the same time. Error reporting is on, but I will be sure to quadruple check it (never hurts to be too sure) There is an error_log in /phpvms/ that I checked as mentioned above, but I was actually unaware of the /phpvms/admin/ error_log. I will definitely check that and report back if it says anything. Furthermore, I will reply back with the information for the ERROR_LEVEL reporting and then try switching around the theme to default and attempting connection again. Thanks again and I will report back with the requested information. Edit: /phpvms/admin/ error log: 24-Dec-2020 07:40:42 America/New_York] PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/redbbqhz/usvaf.ml/phpvms/core/common/RanksData.class.php cacars was installed on 12/25 ERROR_LEVEL in local.config is E_ALL ^ E_NOTICE Edited December 26, 2020 by Redbeard More information
Administrators ProAvia Posted December 26, 2020 Administrators Report Share Posted December 26, 2020 Hmm.... cacars should work with https - as long as local.config has https as the site url. Having phpVMS in root/phpvms shouldn't be an issue either. ERROR_LEVEL as listed will show all but Notices. That should also be okay. What version of MySQL or MariaDB are you using? Post the exact error you are seeing in cacars.
Redbeard
Picture one is my cacars login screen. Picture two is the error and picture three is the server information.
Administrators ProAvia Posted December 27, 2020 Administrators Report Share Posted December 27, 2020 phpVMS 5.5.2.72 and phpVMS 5.5.2 have been reported as having issues with MariaDB 10.2 and higher. Check with the host to verify that Strict Mode is OFF. That may help fix the issue. Your pic shows PHP 7.3.6 . phpVMS 5.5.2.72 has issues with PHP 7.3 and higher. Verify which version of PHP the phpvms is set to run on. You may need to set up a subdomain to set it to PHP 7.2 (if the host has 7.2 available). The URL needs to point to the phpVMS root folder... in your case - https://usvaf.ml/phpvms Try with https and http - also with and without the trailing slash ( / ). I see you notrd you already tried that. Maybe try just usvaf.ml/phpvms or usvaf.ml/phpvms/ -- as your screenshot shows "inclusive http://", so may not need the http part in the URL box. Other than that, I'm out of ideas. Maybe another member who actually uses cacars will chime in.
Heritage1
Looks right to me, actually it looks perfect. Screenshots that is, simple question, do You have the cACARS Module in the right area ?? If not, then this would explain why it can't find it. Should look something like this example; http://myserver.com/core/modules/cACARS_Free/cACARS_Free.php check to see if the actual Module is in the right place along with the actual file of course. If thats not there, then that is your issue. Your screen shot is exactly right, you have the back slash also, as mentioned before, without it it will not work. Hope this helps, I use cACARS faithfully and enjoy it very much. both phpvms 5.5.2 and phpvms 5.5.2.72. works flawlessly.
Redbeard
Alright, boys. I have given up on cACARS and CCFTracker. I am thinking after all the trouble shooting that it is likely an issue with STRICT mode being turned on and running MariaDB 10.3. I am unable to change those variables as I am on paid but shared hosting. I managed to find a copy of kACARS 1.0.1.5 using some internet wizardry (basically just using the Wayback Machine) and I have tested that, and it works perfectly with my server setup. I might try to reach out one final time to my host to get STRICT mode turned of, but at this point, at the very least, I have a working ACARS for my project. Heritage and Avia, thanks so much for both of your help!
