About a year ago I had the idea to make a virtual airline search engine, see this thread: http://forum.phpvms.net/topic/8440-anyone-interested-in-a-va-search-engine/ For those in a hurry without time to look through the thread: I proposed (and now created) a search engine where pilots can find a VA that suits their specific needs eg one that lets them fly their favourite aircraft and/or their home airport, VATSIM/IVAO support, real or fictional airline, restrictions like jumpseat or entry exam etc etc. At the time I had other things to do, and never got it off the ground. FlightSimCon is the annual flight simulator show and convention for all of us simmers. This year it’s being held at the New England Air Museum at Bradley Airport just outside of Hartford CT in Windsor Locks. All the big manufactures will be there at this year’s event including Aerosoft to Saitek to name a few. This month’s fly-in is going to take place during the event in to Bradley airport. Anyone who is a fan of all things that fly, has probably watched The Discovery's Channels series called Mighty Planes. The 5th episode of their second season which aired in the middle of June was on the Boeing 737-200 operated by Nolinor Aviation based out of Montreal Mirabel airport. The show covered the operation of the 737-200 as it traveled from Mirabel to Val-D'Or, here it loaded up cargo for the giant mining company Agnico Eagle for transport to their Meadowbank mine in Nunavut. With the Antarctic summer flying season starting at the end of September Pioneer VA starts with flying LC-130s to the staging area in Christchurch, New Zealand and Twin Otters and BT67 to Punta Arenas, Chili. Flight plans for both routes will be published daily and the Antarctica continental flight schedule will be published October 1st.
