Hi all, I would appreciate your thoughts on my site I will set up a test account for anyone who would like to have a look round and let me know what you think. Not sure if it is the way the website is that is putting potential pilots off. **EDIT** Username: Testuser@test.co.uk Password: Password Thanks Scott

[SOLVED] My Ranking System still PROBLEM
Angel Air replied to SkilledPilotA320's topic in Support Forum
What is the problem exactly? Is it the wrong rank for the amount of hours flown? Have you added other Rank images because phpvms only comes with 1 Rank image so it would not show any other rank if you have not added them. Also if you want to count transfered hours you will need to edit your local.config.php look for the line that says... # If you want to count transfer hours in rank calculations Config::Set('TRANSFER_HOURS_IN_RANKS', true); The parameter above is automatically set to false. Hope this helps. Scott -
I would be up for that Mark. Seems to me that when people have got alot of time on thier hands they tend too make stupid rules up instead of making it easy to be able to enjoy yourself. "idle hands make light work for the devil" Scott

I agree with Mark, Having registered with the forums and recieving about 5 different usernames and passwords to access different parts of the site I was baffled to find out that as a VA owner I could not register my VA with IVAO because I needed to hold a rating as a pilot. Which is very annoying to say the least, also trying to navigate your way through all the rules and regulations on the site to become affiliated is a mine field in its self. Another stupid rule is that you can not advertise your VA on there forum until you are affiliated. After (without exagerating) 1 and half days of trying to sort it out to then be told I needed a rating I cursed at the computer and thought stuff it. at the end of the day pilots who fly on IVAO also fly on vatsim and trawl through all of the other VA forums so I figured what ever happens my VA would reach those who fly on IVAO anyway. That is my two pennies worth on the subject. Scott

Hi all, Finally got round to installing this add on, all files are where they should be but getting this error when you click on the link in the pilot centre. The module "%3CA%20HREF=%22HTTP:" doesn't exist! Any ideas to fix the problem are welcomed. Thanks Scott I have fixed the problem thanks anyway. I had added some extra code which should not have been there.

Here is my second attempt at skinning the Pilot Centre. A thanks must go out to Dresdenair for the link to the icons. +1 to him

Great thanks the ones I have used are not great now I can change it again. Scott

Looks Great I agree with James about the writing. Where did you get the images from?
-
Thanks for the guide it is very helpful I have already done everything that is on your how to guide but with no luck. Not that it has detered me in any way I will continue on, and to be honest I do not expect 200 pilots to sign up I would just like enough to make it a bit more interesting for the other pilots in my VA. I will continue to be positve about the situation. Thanks Scott

Thanks james I appreciate the feed back from all of you more expierenced PHPvms modders.

Are you saying you would like to add this to your site?
-
Thanks Simpilot!!

Hi all, Here is my first attempt at editing the pilot centre, any comments or suggestions welcomed. Thanks Scott

It sounds like you have not uploaded to the correct path. you should have a folder called home, www or html or something along those lines. So just check you have uploaded it to the correct directory. Scott

Hi, I would like to say I love this template but I would like to change it a little. I would like to have the layout of what is on the left of the site on the right of the site aswell. So where the about us is and then recent reports and newest pilots is I would like to have that same layout on the right of the template aswell but with different headings of course, I dont just want to copy what is on the left over to the right. So that when you log on to the site you do not have to scroll all the way down in order to see all the different sections. Not sure if I have made that clear enough or not. Thanks anyway Scott I added this to your forum under the detachable section over 2 months ago and no reply. so I will add it here and see if I get any luck.

I will give it a try no harm in trying Thanks Scott

I agree with the above statements. here is the reports from other VA owners when I released my first attemp. http://forum.phpvms.net/topic/4458-new-va-angel-air-va/ that tread should give you some idea of what you should be doing. I am currently having the same problem I have advertised in all the right places and I think that my website is up to scratch but I guess it is all about having patience and to keep improving on what you have got, it has taken me 3 months to get my site to a point where I think it is acceptable. So that should give you some idea of the time you should be putting in too creating all of the info on your website. I only have 9 registered pilots on my site of which 3 are regular pirep filers. My constant battle with myself is "is it all worth the hassel" well I have to say even though I only have 9 pilots on my site I have enjoyed creating my site and learning a bit about PHP and the challenge of getting pilots to register. Anyway the best advice I got was to keep plugging away until you do get it right. Scott

Worked for me Thanks very much.

Hi all, A question which I am sure has been asked and answered but here goes..... How do all you fellow VA owners attract pilots My VA angelair currently has 9 pilots which I would like to increase of course. where do you go to advertise? are VA's in alliance with each other which helps? or is my website not up to scratch if not what do I need to change to make it more attractive? thanks Scott
