    Skin Release

I did not say they were doomed to fail. I'm saying that its only contributing to the random VA's popping up pulling these regular skins off the web and launching, then closing a week later. The web is polluted with them and many find it contributing to FlighSim being looked at as more of a game than a simulation. I did not say your skins are horrible..I actually like the design..I just think they are dry and don't have much going on to make them unique. Your VA's skin is just the opposite...In fact I actually love it alot. Kesuk is doing great and I have been monitoring its progress for the last few months, so contrary to many of the posters belief I am not ragging on you, merely giving you room for improvement, which in my mind isn't always taken kindly but is usually taken to account on the next go around. So I apologize if the 'tone' of my post was abit unnecessary, but please know I meant no harm to your emotions or to your skill set. And please, Jake will do : Jacob is the print on my birth certificate

    Skin Release

Im not stooping to immaturity as you imply, but bringing in a new crop of low level airlines with no knowledge of working aorund the system or code in the first place is only contributing to throwing this thing around the internet. SImply put mate, I love your skins....but they all seem to have the same theme and never really seem to be unique or an eye catcher, Instead of releaseing a whole slew of them quite often why dont you work on the design a tad bit and maybe add some unique functions that can only be found in that skin. A pilot control bar, weather feeds, intergration with wordpress, phbb, smf etc, make it so people want to download it becasue its different and not just a CSS layout cut up for the system. No offense intended...It was only meant to help,
  3. Change the longitude and the latitude under the Google Map seetings section in your local.config.php file. You can also adjust what type of map is diaplayed and how wide and tall it is aswell.

    Skin Release

Its like your taking free layouts and polluting the forums with you making the modifications of making them compatible with phpvms. Why dont you make something unique and custom?
  5. Delete the page? The core_nav template displays page links by pulling them from the Database, thus you wont see them just the code.
  6. as nabeel said use the full URL to get the SWF file. add <?php echo SITE_URL?> in your source tag to echo the sits url then add the directory extensions as needed. So if my file was located in the main directory for images in the Lib folder then my src would read- <?php echo site_url?>/lib/images/imagenamehere.swf.
  7. If I am understanding correctly you are trying to just link to your SMF registration page. Copy your core_navigation.tpl and paste it in your Skins folder. Then edit the file and add a link to the navigation bar to your SMF registration page.
  8. My main point in saying this is...People should read the documentation and watch the videos before asking questions like, "Whats a skin", "How do i skin"...Its a pet peeve of mine and many others im sure when people ask dumb questions that in this case waste badwith. I read the documnetation and have been directed to the API by Nabeel and have found myself asking less and less questions about how to A.Operate the system, B.Configure the system and C. How to edit the system for my Va's standards. Cheerios-
  9. You must embedd the SWF. Just find the HTML code for it and follow the directions...or search on google for step by step tutorials
  10. Update: Work on the UI in the Administration Panel is complete aswell as the basic layout for the PilotShop page. I plan to start coding the system this weekend and it should be complete by the end of March and released as a .ZIP with detailed instructions on how exactly it is installed into the PhpVMS system. Also I have made a few changes as to what the PilotShop will actually feature, As opposed to the original idea of making it an open market really, I have planned to make it where an Admin can restric what a certain rank group can buy aswell as put restrictions on the numbers of flights flown, amount of hours and the minimum amount of money required for the actual purchase. And by money restriction I mean, I will be factoring the cost of pilot living costs and factoring that in so you can spend money and not have to worry about going bankrupt(I though it was cool 8D). Also I will implement on a later date something that will actually subtract this amount every month from your actual money pot, giving you some ambition to get some more! Thanks,
  11. ^ Actually I muss admit those sound like great features that should be added!
  12. Then you are not understanding what im saying, We are talking about two different group of people. Im reffering to the threads that popup on a weekly basis asking what a skin is and how to skin, when they could have easily read the docs or watched the tutorials to get the basic idea. You are reffering to the group who has already done that which i made no statement towards.... Really its a matter of Noobies posting wanting to know what a skin is vs more seasoned members asking how to pull out information or how to edit the local.config file.
  13. http://phpvms.net/tutorials Please view the docs and tutoriasl before asking questions. These tuts. get your far....If you have any more questions feel free to post!
  14. Ok so we will put it to the test, The first time i see a new topic with the title "Skinning Help" stating a broad question about how to skin we will discuss the matter of reading the doc and watching the vids before posting questions that could easily be answered with the resource material. In my opinion its a waste of bandwith adn everyones time...And im not refering to your topics...If that is the reason why you are posting, Your topics actually state valid questions that need a developer in order to answer them...So no offense.
  15. Count how many..Skinning help?!..Help Skinning! topics you find then convince yourself that they are all nessecary. Most can be answered by viewing the tutorials and previous topics.
  16. lmao danke shon! And thanks for the nice comments guys!
  17. Tis centered, the image was just large and the layout is 1000Px wide :
  18. Well ive been bored latley and i though, Heck i might as well make a new skin with FlyZens new colors so here it is after about an 20 minutes of work. Alot moreneeds to be done but i got the dropdown and the bsic layout complete and by this weekend it should be completed!
  19. First off, Grammar and spelling, This looks like a fifth grader got a light bulb and just had to write something down. Second off, Dude....You were the webmaster. And dude, Apologies :|
  20. The system and your content are two differnet things VTHokiePilot ! So your content on your site is yours and you can copyright it however you wish.
  21. Theres pulling.. Then there is CopyRight infringement and deliberate stealing without permission
  22. Google Adobe flash and be prepared to spend a few hundred dollars.
  23. Not just steal, But steal it from Air-East who in my opinion is well respected here. His ariline is a model example of what yours needs to turn into, but that will not be accomplished by stealing an image off of his website. You need to find a graphic developer to create your airline original graphics when needed, it may behoove you aswell to find a web developer to maintain(And change) the website.
  24. Seriously same template? Jeez Kristopher atleast find another free template to make it your own...
  25. What Is It?- The PilotShop is a free, open source module that will allow your pilots to put their money to good use to purchase an array of items! The idea is to take the PhpVms's finacial system and allow the pilot to use his/her money made from flying to purchase anything ranging from training, ratings, badges etc. . The pilot shop will have an AJAX interface that will display the items added through the Administration panel through different store fronts which pilots can view. Idea applied- So say I was starting a low budget regional airliner operationg out of KACT(Waco regional). Now when my pilots join they are conisdered as active and can start flying flights according to their class. So say i had an E class witch required pilots under 40 hours to fly the B1900D to airports located within 200NM. Now if the pilot disobeys this policy all of his/her PIREPS will automatically be Denied/Deleted. As the pilot flys flights and earns money he/she can purchase training sessions with and Administrator to help him qualify for his/her rating. The pilot can simply purchase the training, negotiate a deal as far as times go for the training and simply earn his/her next class/rating,Thus enriching the experience! Now keep in mind this still requires alot of input on the users and admins part but as the system grows more automation can be added. How does it work?- First of an administrator will go to the administration panel and select the "PilotShop Manager". From there they can, Add store fronts(explained in detail below), Add/Edit Objects(Also described below), and can track how much is spent on the shop. Pilots will simply navigate to the pilot shop select a store front and start buying away whatever is available! StoreFronts- Store fronts can be though of as marketplaces for certain Items, where a pilot can go to and expect to find similar items/services with competing prices and different qualities. Structure- Store Front-> -Market-> --Items to Buy-> ---Pilot Selects Item-> ----Pilot can view details or buy item-> -----Item/Service apperas in his/her PilotBox in their profile Items/Services- Some items/services are built in as default and cannot be removed or added but edited.... Training- You can add different training types for different rating and after a pilot purchases a log of the pilot info and preffered time will be sent to the administrator that posted the training service. The training service after purchase will be stored in the.. -PilotBox-> --Services-> ---Training Sessions Ratings- Ratings can be purchased with hours as opposed to the pilot purchasing the training with his/her money. A rating can be edited to require a minimum amount f hours from the pilot, the rating will display a certificate in the PilotBox describing the rating and what it allows. Example- I decide to purchase my Class C rating for the fictional airline, I can now fly the ATR or whatever aircraft it allows. Badges- Badges are basically money flaunting objects that will be very overpriced and will be siplayes in the upcoming awards section. A pilot can purchase this ridiculous ribbon like badge to display on his or her profile just to show how rich they are. Well guys...Thats the idea...It will grow! I will keep you updated as it evolves, this is in no way shape or from the final draft of what will actually be going on jus tkeep in mind over the next few months many updates will be made to the system allowing for a richer more automated experience. Release date will be announced...
