No ideas at all? Really? lol I have banged my head on the walls for days now and I can not seem to get it to look right. I am about to start dropping all of the css files from the default skin and link to it just to see if it will work right although it will jack the rest of my skin up. Or.... What css file does the google map pull from? If I know that I am in luck. So far I have pryed and poked on every css file I could find that mentioned google map and nothing so far has worked.

I coded up an entire ATC system for my site. THe problem is, I can not do sql work worth talking about. My idea is to have a module that consisted of a simple form for an ATC to fill out for login. Once logged in, they would accumulate time on the atc roster and get paid pilot cash for doing so. The nest thing need would be a way to call the information up from the database to show up on the ATC roster which I have coded up already. I will include a screenie of that in the end. Another part that would be most excellent would be if a admin created a ATC group on their site, it would automagically add them to the controller roster that I am gonna show you. From there it would be necessary to manipulate the database via admin panel or something to assign the controller trainee an instructor as well as enter any other info that may be needed. Here is a pic of my roster. Cheesy but would work. It is not skinned at all obviously. Oh and I do have a login form as well just not up on server yet. I have saw way bigger modules then this one be released so this should be a cake walk for some coders, but as I said, I suck at sql in a bad kind of way. It would be great if one wanted to take a stab at it. I would supply the tpl files necessary.

Hey all, I have been working on learning how to skin vms and I got one working so far. I am going to town on it every day. BUT I have an issue on my ACRS map. Look up at the links on the map on the upper right. I am thinking it is css related. I have tweaked and prodded and poked everything an no such luck. Any ideas? I can't really link to the site since it is on my local host server. I would need to leave it run on my pc all night.

You are correct it does add a news item to the home page. I was thinking maybe if an image is an option that would be cool, maybe not. I would probably change my opinion if I had loads of hub managers and atc posting events. Then the home page might look a bit crappy with tons of thumbnails upon further review. Sometimes ideas look better on paper than in action. If that be the case, maybe a more info link from the news post that would take a person directly to the event listing? Would that be easier then adding an option to add an image to a news post? That would do away with extra admin side crap as well I believe.

Well I found 2 entries when I searched. This one we are on now, and another one that was never talked about. You asked him for further info and that was it. Maybe my search skills are starting to suck. I am not sure. The easy fix for me at this point in time is to get rid of the links.

I just was looking at a few details on my site and doing some tweaking. I went and vied the details for a schedule and I clicked the links that says Click TO View NOTAMS. It goes to here https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/geo/icaoRadius.html?icao_id=KPIT&radius=2 That example is KPIT. BUT no matter what airport I go to, I get Not Found The requested object does not exist on this server. The link you followed is either outdated, inaccurate, or the server has been instructed not to let you have it. Please inform the site administrator of the referring page. I was not going to add this as a bug since it is technically is not. I think that site is gone or they blocked us like the live fuel did. Can anyone else confirm this?

Well that is the good thing about that code from that example. You can add it top any page that you want. In some templates though, when removing the side bars and not recoding the layout of the page it just looks plain bad. But yeah, you can use that code on any page that you wish.

Well, I was looking at my live map as soon as I connected then I waited for a while. It is no biggie really I guess. I was just thinking live map was kind of a standard. So if one pays for a paid script it keeps track the whole time? It is nice to be able to look at the map and it says boarding, enroute, etc, etc. I love using FSFK but it does not like the live map at all and ACARS and XACARS suck arse real bad. SO how long do I need to wait after loading up the flight to see it show up? And I am guessing the code is encrypted so we can not adjust the refresh rate? Just curious is all. KACARS is a great looking script. SO far I like it.

A nice feature that would make this real good would be the option to move forums around. Once you create your forums now, they are where they are. It would be sweet if we could move them up the list or down.

Hi everyone! I just now started messing with KACARS and am curious why I do not show up on my live map on site? I see screenshots of others on their maps but for the life of me, I can not get mine to show. All other ACARS scripts that work with livemap work on my site. Done checked. Did I miss something somewhere? ANd I notice it has a load button bottom left side.... Can anyone elaborate on that one for me please? I am a little lost I guess. Thanks in advance. Ray

If we install this, will we loose all current posts in the forum? I really would like to keep my posts that I currently have as I am sure you can understand. Not that my board is oh so busy, but retaining info is nice. Just curious and thanks for all the effort that you put into this script to improve upon the great work that Simpilot worked so hard to develop.

You know fellas, I installed this long ago and got it working but never used it. Tonight I started messing with it and it works great. However, I still think it would be cool for the event image to show up on the news page either via the front page on the website or on the popup news module. Could this be an option? I know someone before said they didn't like the idea of it doing that, but I think it would be cool for advertising promos and such by each hub manager. Something along those lines. As many other said, some things are left to be an option and maybe this could be an option? OR if anyone knows a hack to add the image to the news post, let me know. I got a good idea of what to do, I just am being lazy tonight and have not searched the files yet. Also, when I put my description in and hit enter to add a break in a paragraph, I get no break in the paragraph and end up with a rnrn between the period and the start of a new sentence.

There is a thread in the skinning forum about 5 or 6 pages back. Somewhere there is a thread with code to make certain things show up on home page for example. I do not have the link handy. I apologize. But like I said, what you are after does exist and can be done.

I am on Beta 943 Would you rather I upgrade my test site to 944 and see if the issue still exists? I just have not updated yet due to popular comments. It will work no matter where you try it at basically. Mine is on the left side of my site in a info block.

Blockquote error. Site seems to be down right now. And We need more info to help on this one. What ACARS program is it doing it? One or all of them....Example ACARS, XACARS, FSFK, FS Passengers, or KACARS? There is a problem with FSFK. It likes to give bogus time remaining as well as distance to travel and many times when I book a flight and get on the live map, it will show me going from say KSUS way down to South America and back up to MKCI. Kind of a long flight flor a 1900D eh?

ok first off, take a copy of core_navigation.tpl and place it in your crystal folder. This file can be found in core/templates If you add links to the core template files, they will get over written when you update your site. For that very reason, you would drop that file in your template folder as well. This is common practice here. to add that link in the core_nav.tpl file that you just dropped in your skin folder, look for <li><a href="<?php echo url('/pilots'); ?>">Pilots</a></li> or similar and add on the next line down <li><a href="<?php echo url('/staff'); ?>">STAFF</a></li> and save the file. This should do the trick for you. Now that being said, notice how I said that the core_nav.tpl file in the core/templates folder will be over written on update? Well so will your crystal skin since it is default. THe core_nav.tpl file that you add to the crystal folder will NOT be over written, BUT if you do any other editing to that template, it will be over written. The best way around this problem is to download a copy of the crystal folder and simply rename it to something like crystal2 then go in to the style sheet file in your newly named crystal folder and find the code <link rel="stylesheet" media="all" type="text/css" href="<?php echo SITE_URL?>/lib/skins/crystal/styles.css" /> and change it to <link rel="stylesheet" media="all" type="text/css" href="<?php echo SITE_URL?>/lib/skins/crystal2/styles.css" /> that will give you your own custom template that you can add files to and edit them all til you are perfectly content and it will NEVER be over written. I hope this helps some and I did not confuse you too much.
