Ok WIll do. Problem though. I have to go and regenerate it first. It pissed me off so I deleted it. Part of the issue is I will most likely have to redo the css for the ObsessBLue template to make it work. The drop down worked great on generator site but on mine, it fizzled out bad. I will go create a new one and when I do, I will send it to you. Maybe I can catch you on msn or email it to you. Either way you like would be fine. And thanks for the reply. Sorry it took so long to reply back to you. I completely forgot I posted this.

Aircraft registration number in Pilot Briefing [SOLVED]
TAV1702 replied to TAV1702's topic in Development Help
Ironically enough, that is what I had in there. I copied and pasted it from your post and what do you know? It worked. I must have been 1 character off or something. Thanks! Ray -
You can looked in the released skins section for free templates to use. Most users won't let go of their own custom stuff. So yeah check the releases thread. That is your best bet.

Glad you got it all sorted out. I see it is marked solved now. I take it you figured that out too? If not simply use the full editor when editing a post. -

The awards description character limit is too short. Can someone shoot me a sql query to bump up the limit? I suck at sql real bad. Thanks.

So now that I go back and read your post again and look closer at the error, you are in fact on a free host. I wish you the best.

from what I gather from reading other posts that came up in a simple search, the website is having a problem communicating with the database. http://forum.phpvms.net/topic/3820-solved-another-installation-problem/page__p__25872__hl__blockquote__fromsearch__1#entry25872 Be sure that when you created everything that your username and password for the database were correct. Also, make sure you used the prefix for your database username and password. People forget that very important part more often then you would think. And welcome to the site. I can almost guarantee that most any issue you have with phpVMS as a new user has been answered in these forums. Please search for answers. AND perhaps the most important thing is, if you are using a free hosting website, get rid of it and get a quality pay host. Most free webs block what is needed for phpVMS to run. If you do now or ever do use a free host, support here will be next to none. Please come back and ask if you are unable to resolve this issue. I have never had the problem so I am of very little help but many others here are quite clever and can help I am more than sure.

How Do I Acess Admin Panel Via Website? [SOLVED]
TAV1702 replied to Nathan L's topic in Support Forum
If you created the website and are the owner, as soon as you login to the site, you will have a link in the menu that says Admin Center. Click that and your good to go. Now I have ran across a couple of templates that forget to add a admin center link. Have you installed any new templates other than the default? If you are running the default template, I assure you there is a link there in the menu. -
Hi Thomas. I am glad it worked out and they di not get p*ssed off at you for doing it. I have been using that little trick for years on phpBB forums that are heavily modded and it has never failed me a one time yet. Looks like we found another use for that trick now as well.

Boy am I glad I found this thread. I was having issues getting groups to work with admin access. I quickly learned that my link on core_nav was wrong. Thanks for the share guys. The fix worked a treat.

Hey everyone, I was helping another guy out with a problem and my solution worked for him so I will share it here in snippets. If you ever get an error like this Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted on your website while trying to do anything, it is a low memory allowed per script on your server. To remedy this situation you can get into your local config file and find ?> after add ini_set("memory_limit","16M") If this does not work, it will if you go to root/.htaccess and add it there instead. If the 16 does not solve your problem you can bump it up some. Please beware that if it is not your server and you are on shared hosting, your host may get a bit upset. Hope this helps someone again. Have a great night! Ray

Glad it worked out. I may just have to add it to snippets. I was not sure if it would work on VMS or not.

Ok I know I am getting ready to be a victim of my own words... Search Ray just use the search function!! Trust me I have used it. I know we have discussed it in the past and I just can not find it now. I want to add the aircraft registration number to the Pilot Briefing page where it lists the aircraft for that flight. The area I am talking about is when you go to bid on a flight it has 3 links: View Details Pilot Brief Add to Bid The Pilot Brief is where I am talking about. The problem I am having is we have multiples of the same aircraft but with different registration numbers. It would be sweet to show the aircraft reg number for that flight as well. Can anyone point me to the thread or tell me what to do? Sorry for my piss poor search skills today. Ray

I put my search skills to use by clicking the search button and this result came up. You will need to skin it to your liking. Hope this helps. http://forum.phpvms.net/topic/3970-pilot-hub-list/

Now I am no professional but you can over ride the ini settings by using a little trick that we use in phpBB forums. I am NOT sure if it will work here but you can try. Basically what is going on is, your account is fine. It is the server settings that are giving you problems. It has to do with the amount of memory they have set aside for each script I guess is how it goes. What we did was add a line to the config file. So if you wish, open your local config file and right after the ?> add ini_set("memory_limit","16M") IF that don't do it, you could always bump the limit up higher. I am not sure how your host is going to feel about doing that though if it works. Like I said, I know for certain that it works on phpBB forums. Just not sure about phpVMS. If that does not work, and you do not have access to your servers phpini file, then try to add it to root/.htaccess This move by all rights should work. It has never failed me in the past under any install of any CMS.

Sounds like a winner to me. Thanks for all the hard work you and Simpilot have put into this project.

That is an ongoing problem with that template. If you do a search for the template, you will find many a people who have commented and posted how to's and tips and tricks for getting around this problem.
-
I promise the style sheet will need tweaked. I have the template on a test install and am tweaking the template just like you have mentioned and yes, the style sheet does need tweaked to flip flop all that you want to.

I never had a problem with firefox with either the forum or airmail. I might have missed something but they always looked fine.

Ok I have a drop down menu made, just cant get it to work right on my site. Anyone willing to give me a hand? I took the menu off of the site for now so the menu can be used. If anyone can help me I can put it back up and let you see what it does. Thanks in advance either way. Ray

Another thing to consider and maybe add to the list for future updates would be separating the board for categories like a regular forum does and add forum threads below the category? Might add a bit of a look to it. Hierarchy I guess. that might be a bit much on the coding side though sooo maybe not such a good plan.

+1 Works great. Thanks!

Hopefully you had a backup of your file that you modified. If so, simply upload your backup and it should be fixed. If you did not have a backup, then chalk this one up as lesson learned. Always do backups before modifying any files. And even then you should always modify files on a test site that is closed to public.
