Yeah a vulnerability in e107 was found. They were using the contact form as an entry point. It was a simple fix if one did not wish to upgrade. But an upgrade is the safest bet if you use e107. I used to use that CMS but not anymore.

I normally use FSFK so I have never used this yet. I am curious to know if it needs a config file like the others? If it works well, I would like to add it as an option on my site for those that do not own a copy of FSFK.

I did that exact same thing originally, but when a pilot would switch pages each time he or she did, it would set off that sound bit that I added. I figured once would be enough when they log on they go to pilot center automatically normally, then after that if they don't check it and surf the rest of the site, they would not get hammered with the sound file. Overall, I am more than happy with the mail system and how it is working with that template now. I need to work on it's appearance some, but it works great anyhow.
-
Here you go. Hope they re size right. The menu is basic. One could skin it if they chose to do so I suppose. I only showed the 2 of them and obviously I could not share the sound it makes when you have mail. Oh I got one more for you. This one is where we access out Airmail from. You won't see the image, but when you get airmail, it shows the nifty little mail box that Simpilot has provided but it plays a female voice that says you have new mail. Like I said, it was a hack job, but it works out much better with that skin then it did before. I do plan on changing some colors to match the theme a bit better too. The menu had to change. the way it worked did not work at all with that template. And I suppose I should have posted my thread about this in the Obsess Blue theme thread. ooops! Sorry guys.

Got to love a dam SPAMMER! Get a life moron!

Still looking around for a script that will use our current phpVMS database if anyone has one or found one. I have checked out several others but they all require the user to register again. Multiple registrations to use 1 website just sux. That is why I have not added one to my site yet.
-
Anyone created a nice drop down menu out of the one that already exists or looks like it? I found one another person did, but it looked out of place compared to the one that is default to the theme. And hopefully a fix is found for the pilot page. I have taken out the code for the extra boxes up top for now to stop that from happening, but a fix would be excellent. I have tried and tried and no such luck. I have picked it a part line by line.

This is interesting. Did you ever get it to work out right?

I have completely tweaked the AirMail for the Obsess Blue theme. Took some major tweaking but it works. I have come up with a new menu to make it work a bit better as well. If anyone wants, I can post a few screenies of mine in action. Mine also includes a sound file for new mail. Once again, I thank SimPilot for all the hard work and effort he puts in to phpVMS. Without your hard work, our sites would be a lot slimmer and need some tweaks real bad. Between you and Nabeel, phpVMS is the shat!

I may be a day late and a dollar short, but what is this nav data thing? I recall it being talked about once But I have had a few too many beers since then.

It might help someone if they need images for what ever reason. I however, can not do graphics. I do not know how. Never could. I attempted a paint job on an aircraft once...... Well, needless to say, the aircraft still had the default skin when I was done. Hopefully in my school adventures I will learn how to do graphics.
-
Not sure how well this would go over, but how about a every 100 hour required maintenance on aircraft. The aircraft would be grounded until a inspection/repair fee was paid. Much like FS Economy or Flightline. I know we can just add that in expenses as is, I'm thinking once every 100 hours would help out some airlines. Maybe make an option to enable / disable in config file.

I could not agree more. Well said.

Hey thanks for the reply Nabeel. Much appreciated.

Thanks Jeff. I really appreciate it. Hopefully one of these days when my 37 year old self grows up, I will figure out how to do that kind of stuff.

Hi Jeff. I really have a couple places I was thinking about. 1 place was on my regular website Wich is the obsess blue theme, and the other site it is going to go on is a all black website with red lettering. here is the link to it. http://radio.thunderva.com You will see an are with a link or something like that on the left side that says join me at Fubar. It is actually going to go over there. So 88x30 or maybe a tad bigger would suffice. I tried to make my own but I can not do graphics at all. I have never found a easy way to do them.

Hey Nabeel, question for you. I am currently still on Version 2.1.935 . Is it safe to say that I can upgrade and not worry about my template? I see in your changed files list there are not template changes. I am wanting to upgrade first but just wanted to be sure first. Time is short now days with going to school and all and don't have time for major template upgrades. Thanks in advance. Ray

I just grabbed that one. It is a bit big for what I am doing but may just have to do. thx

I was just wondering if anyone has any phpVMS 88x31 buttons or anything like that. Maybe a freckle bigger but not much. I could really use a couple if anyone has one or two and cares to share. This is one thing that is missing from this forum is some useable images. If there is, my apologies. I must have been overlooking them for 5 or 6 months now.

MyBB is a good board too. It has a nice clean look to it. And to install mods is easy. It has a plugin system instead of manually installing mods code line by code line like phpBB. I however am a phpBB user. Always have been. I did have IPB at one point in time, but it wasn't for me. And like everyone else said, that is a bunch of money for a hobby that really makes no money at all and most VA's that you see just come and go after a few months. Rarely does a VA stay for the long haul. I am not saying IPB is not a fine piece of software at all. It works great but was just not for me.

Here is that zip file I promised. Special thanks to SimPilot for helping me test this one out to make sure I had it right. As stated before, it does not provide a stream. Only a status of a stream. Why is this needed? Well it really is not. What I have used it for in the past is for ATC sessions, and for in flight audio. Those long hauls get boring. So all of us pilots used to get together and take shifts DJing and taking requests. While in ATC sessions, the current DJ would give out metar reports and all that kind of stuff. It was actually pretty cool. I can help you out to get this to work (if your server will allow it) free of charge. BUT I will not set up a radio station for anyone for free. That takes time and effort to get right. So if you have a stream already set up and working, then this is for you. If you are thinking about it, do NOT add this until you get a stream going otherwise it is useless and will error out. When you extract the file, keep opening up until you come to the core folder. Simply upload everything in that folder keeping the file structure intact. You will need to call the info to your front page or where ever you choose to accordingly. Nabeel, if you want to move this, you can. If not, that is cool too. I really should have created a new thread and made it a nice fancy release thread but oh well. Ray

That is a fact. First hand experience here. My Little website which only has 3 people on it was contacted VERY recently about it's name. I jumped through hoops for a couple of days on this subject. When I talked to the man who owned the small FBO at KSUS, we talked about a friend of mine in St Louis who originally opened the VA back in 2002. Him and my buddy were best friends. I told him since my ol' pal dropped off the face of the Earth, I was working on a site for just me or others to use and we went through the whole VA thing and from there, once again, as we did with him back in 2002, and I was "Cleared for take off" (Pun Intended). Got everything I needed for future reference if the need arises. The man closed shop in August of 2006 of last year. It was never an airline to begin with. It was all maintenance on aircraft. So yes, one will act quick to protect the copyrights and trademarks no matter what.

Oh yeah. I have the working version. It will not work correctly on my server due to host issues, but Simpilot was able to get it working perfectly on his server. Maybe he can post a screen shot for you. Let me run and check the file real quick and if it is all there accordingly, I will come back and attach it. **PLEASE BE ADVISED!!!**** This only shows the status of a live stream. You must have a shoutcast stream live and running or all this will do is error out. This script does NOT provide a shoutcast stream. That screen shot is REAL basic. that is from another radio station that I coded up. Now let me go see if I can find my shoutcast file.

Hi Mark1million. Were you able to get your phpBB script to play nice with phpBB updates? I know there was another phpBb script floaing around here that I was able to get to work, but it did not go well with phpBB updates. That is the only concern. As well all know, when phpBb releases updates, that are at great lengths when you have to do it manually.

I will agree on the SMF board. it is nice to use. I have been a phpBB man forever and a day now, but I do like SMF. However, I currently do use the VA Forum and for now it is working out fine. I have not had time to mess with it anymore the last couple of days though. Been busy doing school work and such. I do plan on creating a ,"List-O-Teaks" that I have done to mine here in the near future.
