  1. Nabeel, thanks for the feedback. As I said it wasn't an important issue just more of a question as to how things work.....somehow we moved up to 26th since my inital post. We did get 17 new pilots but their not all up and running. We are very active which comes as a surprise for a military (Air Force VA with little structure) so we must be offering something people are enjoying. We have a few quarks in phpvms but we try and work pass them as I have not found any solution in the forums for the kinks. But this is not the place to get into it. Thanks again. David Zaleski www.usavamc.com
  2. Understand, this is not an important issue and it isn't my intent to challenge the system. I looked through the available information an never came accross anything that made "Frequency" a criteria. But what your saying, is a VA that has a 500 members and only have a third active daily, verses a VA with 50 members flying 100% active daily. The smaller VA will loose out on sheer numbers. I guess that how I understand this. Again, its not important and I didn't mean to take up anyones time with a silly question such as this.
  3. This is a question and not a complaint. But It seems to me that the number of scheduled routes a VA has is the determining factor as to its rating. Although we are ranked 29th at this writing we beat many of the members above us in every category except the number of routes. We are a military VA with no routes, this criteria is preventing us from moving up the ranking. Please explain this. www.usavamc.com
  4. I use the old crystalsidebar skin from a earlier version of phpvms...www.usavamc.com if you would like it and you can't get it, email me at dezaleski@optimum.net, subject: Sidebar skin. Understand, I repainted the one on my site but this is simple, no code involved.
  5. Gents, this was sent to me by one of my members, I don't have an answer. But I have been prepping to convert from Vista to Windows 7 myself. "I installed Windows 7 yesterday. Can not connect to Kacars, error= .xml files not allowed. With Vista I turned off "user account control" and it let kacars and vista exchange .xml files. Do you know how to set Windows 7 to ALLOW .xml files? Other pilots are using Windows 7 so there must be away No one on our teamspeak knew the answer". Thank you, Arnold "jaguar" Hinson AMC055 www.usavamc.com
  6. This is the best I can do for now, it's linked through my site URL http://www.usavamc.com/phpvms_for_dummies.pdf
  7. Its in PDF format need to get it to Nabeel per his request but don't have an address for him....I'll try and attach it here. To big, have to zip it. Seems to file is to large for attachment. It is a illustated 20 page guide.
  8. Actually he did give me a thumbs up..........it should be completed by the end of next week. It isn't going to address code or programming. But it will have plenty of information and illustration to get the beginner VA owner started and the Vets converting to phpvms. I just love this software I just wish I knew what the experts new.
  9. Dear gentlemen. Part of my real world job involves tech writing. I have been working on my own to create a beginners guide for those who find themselves lacking the knowledge of php and particularly Phpvms. It will be a step by step illustrated guide (PDF) to help simmers to take advantage of this great freeware product. It isn't my intension to be technical but to provide a total walk through from unzipping through installation and a guide through the Admin panel. This is not sanctioned or certified by the folks here at phpvms, I just intened to help others and may serve to answer some of those general questions that find themselves on these forums. When it's finished I would like to make it available on the support forum. I understand someone would have to review it. I don't know who to present this to, that's why I posted it here in the support forum. Maybe it will be placed where it belongs. Well here it is Saturday....and I finished the "Phpvms Guide for Dummies" a week early as I ran out of knowledge on the suject. But now I need to have a means of getting it to Nabeel.
  10. Problem Solved: This morning one of my site admin's sent me a screenshot of a script error he was getting, I never had this. I followed the path and replaced the script, and now all is well. Have my Edit toolbars back.
  11. Daniel, I've done this using MS Expression 4, I also use Dreamveaver MX and Frontpage 2003. I just converted the default index.html in to a lead in page that has a video on it, you click on the logo and takes you to the site. Since your domain is pointing to your default index.html or htm, use it. this is my site lead in. www.usavamc.com when you click on the logo it takes your to www.usavamc.com/phpvms/. I'm sure there are better ways to approach this, but this worked for me.
  12. Holy crap..............this is already making the wind pickup a little. The whole thing (My Issue) makes no since. I find it hard to imagine that I'm the only user that has had this issue. No issues in my sub site. I'm going to try your suggestion. Thanks alot, Keith.
  13. It just seems to me, that this is a matter of replacing a Corrupt file(page). As it is common to both the Main News page and add-on pages. The edit button just seems to point wrong. I have replaced the admin file folder, but it appears this loss of word processor ability is not a function of the admin panel. The fact that my site is very active it makes the process of elimination very difficult. As it is I can't update any of my pages, sort of takes the wind out of my sails.
  14. Ok, if you are using phpvms, go to your admim panel click on the News link at the left in the Dashboard Look at the address path, now click on the News edit button on the right and look at your screen and you will find your address will read "http://www.yoururl.com/phpvms//admin/index.php/sitecms/editnews?id=1" This appears to be correct as it is the same as my subsite which does show the Menu tools. But the address I get on my main site indicated in this post reads "http://www.yoururl.com/phpvms//admin/index.php/sitecms/editnews?id=1" I don't know the relationship between "editnews?id=1) or (editnews?id=3? infact when I attempt to follow the path in my FTP, I can't find the connection (path). I find "Sitecms" in the core module but don't see /editnews/ So, do to the structure in which things work, something I don't understand. It is difficult for me to isolate. It seems to be a simple cure, but I just have no clue.
  15. I setup a webpage with all the information and images to help explain my issue with the admin panel. Hope this helps http://www.usavamc.c...admin_error.htm I have replaced the admin folder to the site but it didn't resolve anything. Thanks.
  16. Just for the record, this is not my post or topic that is mentioned here: "To back up what Jon has mentioned, the comment in a request for help that states, "it doesn't work, what is wrong", is not the best way to get some help. It is very helpful to the people trying to help you if you include the details of the situation. It is the old saying of "help me to help you". I do find myself avoiding the threads that have a screenshot of a problem and very little supporting information, it is similar to calling the Dr and telling him you don't feel well and asking him, what's wrong? He can't see you, perform an examination, and may not know your history. I also, and I think I may speak for others, avoid threads with "HELP!!!" in the title, or are filled with "!!!!!!" strings" David

  18. gr joeri, I don't have any issue with the skin. I haven't been back to you as I haven't completed my list, one being a new skin with sidebars instead of top bars. But I can see this isn't going to happen as I made a real splash here. I don't know how I thought you were associated with FSTools I never but two and two together and then this evening at work I remembered you are TNT Virtual. I mentioned below that I owe Tom, a apology for referring to you as being from FSTools and Jeff Kobus being from FSTools and now I'm apologizing to you.
  19. Gentlemen...Once again I'm sorry. My biggest mistake here is posting my frustration when I'm tired. I work for 10:00 am until 01:00 in the morning. The issue was driving me nuts, I even replaced the admin files, I was at my wits end and took my frustration out here at the forum. Before I bow out of here and as our great president just stated recently "Trouble makers can go to the back of the bus" I will send a personal apology to Tom at FSTools for referring to Jeff of FSTools. Jeff (Kobus) was still on my mind as he developed a custom Kacars for me (FS Products). The person I was referring, I thought was from FSTools was the gentlemen who I purchased my skin from which states is Powered by Phpvms & FSTools. Gr joeri of TNT Virtual which now has me puzzled. I can't even remember how I connected with him as I had several email exchanges with Tom about new skins. So it appears I purchased a skin he purchased from FSTools. But but I'm not having a skin problem. I'm missing the editing tools for editing the Main News page and Pages I created. The same tool bar you find in any word processors. But I can't seem to get this point across, even attaching a screenshot of my news page showing the source code for what I have posted on the main page. But can't edit the page and there is nothing to edit or update it with, probably because of the cloud of soot I created around myself for shooting off my mouth. I'm sure no one here has ever stuck their foot in their month. Was asked above. I have the latest version of phpvms (Since July) and have had no issues until I started deleting old database (Server mysql panel) and the sub site. The two sites were separate folder phpvms_and a prefix in different directories. So nothing in the site folder were touched. And yes I did realize after the fact that the databases were not isolated by the prefix so it was shared. Didn't understand the wording when I ran the installer then and I'm not sure I understand it now. It states "If your are sharing this database add a prefix to phpvms_" makes no since to me. But then, I don't know squat about php or phpvms. Gents I'll leave you be. Wishing you all the best.
  20. I have gotten past this issue as it was my doing. I misunderstood the meaning of "different prefix, like phpvmst_" when I installed the subsite. Each time I read it I couldn't tell whether I needed a prefex if I shared the database or don't use it if I shared it. Either way the subsite is on another server and it's just as well. My present issue which I sent in the screen shot has to do with the News Edit page and Page edit tools are missing. When you click on the main page News (Admin) click on Edit. It takes me to the sources code instead of the editing page with all the tools. Normally if your in the edit page you can view the source code by clicking at the left top of panel. But I'm going there directly and have no way to get to the edit page with all the tools bars and upload tools.
  21. My apologizes..........the skin says Powered by FSTools but I got the skin and the features were added by Gr joeri of TNT. Originally I had a conversation With Tom at FSTools and via these forums I connected with Gr joeri and purchased the skin from him and he added Airmail and did some other work on it.
  22. My apologizes to all of you who were offended by my frustration with trying to get help on these forums. I understood this to be a support forum. Neither am I critical of any particular individual, its a general observation by someone who is not a php programmer. My reference was to those of you who hang out here and share your code, who are knowledgeable in the mechanics of phpvms and I'm sure php in general. My program knowledge is relegated to CNC machine code, a whole different world. I read the post by others in the hopes I can figure stuff out so I don't have to bother the folks here with stupid questions. But I searched the threads and found nothing related to the issue I'm having. And to respond to the comment to my second server, this was by my choice. I was not forced or am I blaming anyone. It was my resolution to a problem I couldn't fix. I includes a screen shot of the issue in my post. There is not much more I can say about it. But I see this thread is not going to resolve my issue but just cause me embarrassment for posting it in the first place, as I'm sure there will be others who will get in their licks. I have had great support from FSTools, particularly Jeff. He did my skin, added Airmail and other features. My frustration is my lack of knowledge of php and phpvms. I included all the praise in the world for the product but yet you choose to focus on my comment about support. So for that my deepest apology to all of you. I will avoid posting questions in the future.
  23. THis is a server issue....trust me, been there. Contact your server by phone, don't waste your time in the live chat rooms. Ask the tech to view your site so he can see the error. It's a scripting error that your site server can repair while your on the phone. Has to do with your index.php the site may not be setup for the .php extension properly.
