CrashGordon
I see the new version of phpVMS works with FS Flight Keeper. Is there any benefit to using FSFK rather than FSACARS or FSPAX?
Guest CableGuy
Well Considering the features of FS Flight Keeper yes. For example, If you crash, FS Flight Keeper has an integrated virtual Black Box.
CrashGordon
So, FSACARS can work with the live map, but has no real flight data to provide, FSPax can provide data, but doesn't provide info for the map, and FSFK provides both. Moderators joeri Posted January 10, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted January 10, 2010 FSFK provides all you can also us xacars but this only tracks the flight no landingrate,ext..... but the only downside to fsfk is its payware. but iff you go to aerosoft with a bigg group you can fix a discount. maby it is an idea iff we made a tread to see how many are willing to buy and then ask for a biggggg discount. gr joeri
TAV1702
I have FS Flight keeper and have never even tried it on site yet. I guess Im too lazy or trying to get everything else in order first.
Administrators Nabeel Posted January 11, 2010 Administrators Report Share Posted January 11, 2010 I think this will convince you to use FSFK: http://dev.phpvms.net/index.php/pireps/view/89 Each part of the log sent also has its own template which you can customize
CrashGordon
Oooh, pretty! Now for the question. does it keep that type of record for all your flights or does it do the same thing FS Passengers does, and only keep that level of detail for your last flight? Moderators joeri Posted January 11, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted January 11, 2010 it will keep a complete loggbook off all you flights local on your computer. gr joeri
CrashGordon
I have a trial key for it. If it turns out to be problem free, I'll probably buy it.

CrashGordon
I tried it, but for some reason, it wouldn't launch when FSX did and wound up crashing FSX. I uninstalled it and found something I liked even less. The uninstallation failed to remove the launch code from FSUIPC's configuration. I had to manually edit the file. Moderators joeri Posted January 13, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted January 13, 2010 this things you can edit in the options off fsfk the unistall is a pain in the ass i know here its working fine but i don't let fs and fsfk startup at the same time dew to extencive mem use of fsfk. gr joeri

I never rely on auto launches. I always launched FSX, setup my flight, then launched FSFK, then connect to FS manually and start ACARs manually
CrashGordon
It's on the backburner for now. I just bought a new monitor and don't really want to spend more cash at the moment. Truth be told, I don't really need all that FSFK offers. I already know how badly I fly. ;D Now, I'm looking at XAcars, which looks good, despite deplorable documentation. FSFK is the LAST program I load up in the long list of programs I use with FSX.

I am kind of lost somewhere I suppose. I set up my FSFK and tried it and I never showed up on my live map.

TAV1702
The install docs from phpvms are good: http://docs.phpvms.net/using_fsfk#using_fs_flight_keeper Yeah CPC900 I just realized that a few minutes ago actually. I am normally a very strong preacher when it comes to searching which I failed to do this time. I am kind of scatter brained right now as I just found out that my step mother has passed away of congestive heart failure. Right now I have put it all on hold until I am not sure when. I really do appreciate the link and will go have a look at it to take my mind off of things. Thanks again, Ray

TAV1702
Thanks guys. I appreciate it a bunch! I will quit posting the same issue in 2 different threads and act like I know how to act on a forum. ;D My apologies for doing that. I was not in a very good state of mind last night. I will post all further posts on fsfk in the support category in the thread that allready exists. thanks again Ray
CrashGordon
Finally got it working, though I haven't had a chance to test its uploading PIREPS, yet. It's handy to have 2 monitors, so I can keep an eye on how it is working.
