loplo Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Maybe this is a future request. Is there a way to introduce a penalty on hard landings? At our VA, the maximum allowed landing rate is -500f/m. We would need something that will reduce the pilots income on hard landings. Let's say: - between -1f/m and -500f/m 0 penalty - between -501f/m and 550 f/m 50 penalty ............... - more than 800f/m pirep automatically refused. Quote
flyalaska Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 We just reject the flight if the landing rate is grater than -1,000 Quote
loplo Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 We also reject over -800f/m, but until -800 we would like to reach into the pilot's pockets. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted February 22, 2010 Administrators Report Posted February 22, 2010 This can be accomplished with a module watching the "pirep_filed" event. You can check the landing rate, and then doc pay or whatever with that Quote
stuartpb Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Wouldn't that be unfair on those who use FSACARS, compared to those who file PIREPS manually? I like the idea though! I was thinking about doing away with manual PIREP reporting and making FSACARS compulsorary, so the idea would work well then. Quote
TAV1702 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Yeah the manual filing thing would shaft those of us who use FSFK, PAX, ACARS, and XACARS for sure. And I have pondered getting rid of manual filing as well, EXCEPT, not all of us can afford to purchase FSFK and we all know how NOT stable ACARS and XACARS really is. MANY a flights before fsfk use, I had to go and file manually due to acars not working correct and I had to reinstall it. Find an answer to that little ditty and I would suppose I would ditch manual pireps as well. Quote
Administrators Nabeel Posted February 23, 2010 Administrators Report Posted February 23, 2010 Eddie may have found a fix for FSACARS: http://forum.phpvms.net/topic/2111-error-sending-log/ So, hopefully that will help. BTW, FSFK does give a discount for VA members, might be 25%-30% IIRC Quote
loplo Posted February 23, 2010 Author Report Posted February 23, 2010 We are not accepting manual pireps. Quote
