vcal Posted January 21, 2017 Report Posted January 21, 2017 Is this going to be a standard thing built in to it? Quote
Moderators servetas Posted January 21, 2017 Moderators Report Posted January 21, 2017 I believe that there is an extended number of cookie notification plugins in the market both freeware and payware. They can be implemented very easily into any website. If I remember well, only the European websites are required to follow this. Quote
vcal Posted January 21, 2017 Author Report Posted January 21, 2017 I think it would be better to start this with that already enabled considering how many VA's are based on the Euro continent and how many Europeans use VA's over the world. I for one would like to see this implemented from the start. Quote

However, there is no way for the author to know exactly where to link to cookies policy page or terms of use page or what ever page a VA owner may have chosen to use as their cookie policy information page. Most free scripts on the open market ask for a link to this page for a reason. Realistically, what good does it do you to warn me that your site uses cookies if you don't give me a link to the page to view the terms of the cookie use on your site. With no page to view, I have no choice but to leave your site because I am not familiar with your terms. Or I have to search your site to find the page, click the link, etc etc. Just my 2 cents worth of thought that probably is not even worth 1 cent. Take care. Quote
Moderators servetas Posted January 24, 2017 Moderators Report Posted January 24, 2017 As I said before, there are quiet a few tools which allow you to include the cookie notification just by placing a few lines of code inside your layout.php file. https://silktide.com/tools/cookie-consent/ 1 Quote
magicflyer Posted January 25, 2017 Report Posted January 25, 2017 Maybe...Instead of suggesting that a cookie notification be added to phpVMS, we can suggest an admin field to add custom code to the <head></head> section of the website? That'll allow people to add in Google Analytics, Newsletter Popups, Cookie Consents, and even modify their SEO a bit... Quote
