Error 503 when trying to access admin page
DisposableHero replied to averdung's topic in Support Forum
Then you are in the wrong section of the forum. This section is only for phpVMS v7. Maybe @ProAvia can move your post to relevant section (phpVMS Classic - v2/v5) By the look of it, your server is struggling to respond the load when you enter admin area. Maybe something is updated in the background, some server settings changed or somehow your increasing pireps are creating extra load and it is hurting the admin area now. Hope you can find the root cause. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Reference/Status/503 Good luck -
Given that the simple form is the three classes of First Business and Economy one aspect that should be apparent to anyone creating a virtual airline is that seating capacities vary between aircraft types and the same aircraft type within different airlines. As such it can be a bit hit and miss to get a reasonably reliable set of economy etc capacity as for example the budget airlines like Easyjet and Ryanair may have larger capacity for a B737 than a traditional aircraft that has a business class section. As part of the 'Revised and enhanced PHPVMSGEN ' yes it has been resumed this time with more enhanced data references, I am getting for as many airlines as possible their seating plans and creating a table which PHPVMSGEN will use to create the capacity values in the Aircraft subfleet records . However since it will be of interest to a number of you I will produce a PDF file of these seat numbers and publish it as a file here to help you. It will be a few days but I am already gettting good data from one of the three web sites I am using for this application an example of the data i am mining from a website gives the following results -: mk-339 First Class Seats: 0 Business Class Seats: 28 Economy Class Seats: 260 mk-359 First Class Seats: 0 Business Class Seats: 28 Economy Class Seats: 298 mk-at5 First Class Seats: 0 Business Class Seats: 0 Economy Class Seats: 72 by mapping the iata codes to subfleets etc the Atr 72 500 for Air Mauritius would have the capacity set to Y= 72 of course some airlines might not have this information available but it would be reasonable to use an average per aircraft type to give a reasonable set of values

Be sure you are using php8.1 or up and be 1000% sure it is the default version, this is related to either a missing/broken php module or multi php usage problem. Switching to a different php version and cleaning all cache (including nginx if you are using it) may help too. In some cases, Apache tries to use php8.2 but nginx running on top if is set to utilize php8.1 or vice versa. Good luck. PS: Running older versions of phpVMS (like the classic series 2.x/5.x) or older beta versions of v7 does not mean that your hosting service (or server) is fully compatible with the released version
-
I tried to install PHPVMS7 according to the installation guide, but encountered some issues. I'm attaching images that might help illustrate the problem. Additionally, the hosting service includes older versions of PHPVMS, so it does support it. Also, PHPVMS version 7 BETA was previously installed.

Hi, this question is the most asked one and with the SimBrief improvements we have in v7 this matter become critical ... Here you can find the basics about the logic and how to setup your fares/subfleets/flights properly. 1. Main Fares You can define your fares in admin/fares. These will be your main fare types, which will then be used in your subfleets or flights. The main idea here is to define only the basics, so you can change them later when needed. Think fares like the seats in your plane (or cargo space), which can be sold as tickets. They are not in flight services or extended service types like WiFi, Hot Meals, Extra Snacks, Economy Premium or Economy Basic, they are just Economy seats you have. So lets start; Economy (Y) Business (J) First Class (F) Cargo (CGO) These are the main fare groups commonly found in airliners, so start with Economy. When you are at admin/fares click Add New, and enter the info as described below Code : Y Name : Economy Type : Passenger ( for Cargo Fares type must be Cargo as expected ) Price : 100 Cost : 25 Capacity : EMPTY / NULL ( Leave it empty, do NOT try writing EMPTY to that field ) Notes : Fill as you wish Active : Checked and click save ... In simple terms we will gain 75 Usd/Eur/Pound (currency comes from your settings) from each passenger 'cause there is an operating cost of a seat. Repeat the steps for rest if you wish. Why we left Capacity empty ? I will explain it later but for now we are just defining our base fares, so no need to have capacities here. 2. SubFleet Fares Assuming you already have at least one subfleet, which is mandatory in v7. We can explain their logic later if necessary. Head up to admin/fleets and click edit one of your subfleets, or just create one and save (so you will be able to see the details). Scroll down a little bit and you will see Fares section there and it is probably empty. This is the area where we "assign" and "adjust" our main fares which will be used for this subfleet. Click on Select Fare, you will see your defined main fares there. Select Economy and click Add. Now the fare is assigned to this subfleet and you will see it above values like below; Name : Economy Code : Y Type : Passenger Capacity : inherited () Price : inherited (100) Cost : inherited (25) This is where v7 magic begins ... I will use an Airbus A320 with only economy class seats as my basic aircraft type. Click on the inherited text under capacity column and enter 180 there. Right now, when you use any member of this subfleet, you will have 180 seats ready for being sold with a price tag of 100 currency and it will cost you 25 currency to operate that seat. If you want to change the price of your tickets or adjust the operating costs of your seats for this subfleet you can follow the same steps for price and cost. If you do so, your ticket prices and/or costs will be changed ONLY for this subfleet. While adjusting prices you can just use pure values like 150 or percentages like 125%. It is up to you how you change the value. Just do not use percentages on capacities, it really does not make any sense Ok, passenger capacity and price/cost was easy ... How about having some cargo space/fare for a passenger plane. They are not designed to carry bigger loads like freighters but they do have some space under their belly, which is mainly used for carrying out passenger baggages, why not use the remaining space to earn some more money ? Normally passenger planes are mostly limited by the cargo hold's (the name of the cargo area) volume but since we do not have any volume checking capability in simulator and phpvms, we will stick only on the weights here. Just add your pre-defined cargo fare to your subfleet like you added the passenger fares. So, the logic is simple; Your Cargo fare should be big enough to hold all your passenger baggages. Then calculation is simple too 180 (our pax capacity) * 35 lbs (our non-charter baggage weight : check admin/setting simbrief for default values) = 6300 lbs should be your minimum Cargo Fare capacity. If you want to carry some paid cargo, then you need to increase this amount up to a point where it does not passes your aircrafts Maximum Zero Fuel Weight when you have full pax on board. I know this may sound a little bit strange but this is how real thing works too If you know your aircraft specification, then you can calculate your possible max cargo capacity by below formula; Maximum Cargo Fare Capacity = MZFW - DOW - ( max pax seat capacity * pax weight ) DOW is Dry Operating Weight (Operating Empty Weight), it is the weight of your aircraft without fuel, passengers and cargo but with crew, catering and airline stuff loaded already. Anyway, if you do not know your DOW and MZFW then just add some space more to the above calculated value, make it like 8000 lbs. So you will have 1700 lbs free space to carry some cargo after taking all the passenger baggages for a fully loaded flight. Please note; If your PhpVms weight settings are KG, just convert the amount you found to kilograms before adjusting the cargo fare capacity. Just another note for SimBrief Form; The cargo fares of passenger planes will show you the Maximum Available capacity, though we named it max in short terms but this may lead confusions. So when you have passengers and their baggage, your cargo fare capacity will be reduced by the weight of the total passenger baggage weight. Therefore it is not the capacity you defined anymore, it is just what is left behind for you to load additional cargo. If you see negative values there, this is a clear indication that your cargo fare capacity is not enough to hold the passenger baggages . And please keep in mind that SimBrief form uses your aircraft, meaning it reads your subfleet fares. It is a flight plan, do not expect it to read the fares of a flight, it is directly related to the aircrafy you want to generate a flight plan. 3. Flight Fares Technically you really do not need to add fares to flights, but the logic is same as adding fares to subfleets. If you want to change the ticket price/cost of a fare for a specific flight you can do it here. Imagine having a special flight with doubled ticket prices, then just add the fare you want to adjust, click on the price or cost columns inherited text and enter 200%. Now you will have doubled price/cost for this flight only I higly suggest you to not to define capacities at main fares and not adjust capacities at flight fares. This really makes life easier, in real world operations we do not define the capacity in fares and for flights (unless there is a special need). Capacity always comes from the aircraft (here in phpvms it comes from the subfleet) and when we (as OCC or Dispatchers) do change the aircraft of a flight or decide to do it with another aircraft other than planned by commercial planning or schedule planning departments of the airline, ticket sale systems just get the new aircraft info and use its capacity to stop the ticket sales automatically if it reaches the max seats. Things do NOT work like the real world here, so if you have a 180 seat aircraft but define a main fare with 219 seat capacity or edit a flight's fare and set capacity to 239 there, results will not be nice And always remember, fare logic follows below order; Flight (has highest priority, when you change thigns here, they will be used) Subfleet / Aircraft (medium priority over fare) Fare (lowest priority and gets overwritten by the ones above) I think this is enough for basic setup and understanding the logic how fares work in PhpVms v7. Safe flights for now, will post some more info about different topics later.

Having discovered that the source of data for Vacentral is OurAirports then of course the data they have needs to be updated accordingly. I have started to go through their csv file to highlight any missing data such as missing airports and missing icao codes. It is an easy task as I created s table to hold the csv file and created some pdf text files on what records I need to check and update on ourairports web site as I am a member and can support the data by editing

Given that PHPVMS especially now in version 7 uses VaCentral to create Airport records for the virtual airline when loading via CSV file or inputting flight schedule records. Given that in the readme file for the VaCentral Github repository for using the API it states quote 'The interface to vaCentral, used in phpVMS, and can be used in your own custom system.' Thus on the above two statements I wish to question the reliability of the VAcentral data on several errors or omissions that I have discovered. Albeit these errors and omissions may not have any effect on how PHPVMS operates , that question needs clarification from authors of PHPVMS themselves. Using Vacentral data as per the 'The interface to vaCentral, used in phpVMS, and can be used in your own custom system.' my case study or project does just that to get a list of airports that can be used to steer a building process for data. My project to which I now have the energy and time to return to with a different approach is called PHPVMSGEN where a user can select what records they want from a database to build the csv files to import to PHPVMS V7. Obviously I need a database of flights from which the user of PHPVMSGEN can get their results from I chose to use the flight data from FSTRAFFIC as used in Microsoft Flight Simulator and this has over 150,000 flights that if you use MSFS Flight Simulator and FStraffic they would run from the airports in the schedules from FSTRAFFIC. Likewise one could use the data from AIG flight schedules as well or equivalent from some of the X-plane traffic modules , or even capture the data from real time traffic add-ons. Outside of Flight simulator you could get data just as well from Flightradar24 or Flightaware or any other web-service that you can use for getting flight information. Now since FSTRAFFIC has all these airport files with flights in then if your virtual airline wanted to emulate the airlines that use these airports in these flight files then you would need the airport in PHPVMS v7. From my use of VAcentral to create a selection table of Airports based on these flight files in FSTRAFFIC I have come across three distinct error or omission types that could be of concern. [01] You have an Airport ICAO code for example BGAK and the call to Vacentral returns you an ICAO code of GL-QCU . Does it really matter and does PHPVMS V7 actually use the correct ICAO code of BGAK ?. [02] You have an Airport ICAO code for example HKVG and the call to VAcentral returns no data i.e. airport not in the database. Does it matter to PHPVMS V7 if you import a flight using HKVG as a departure airport ?. [03] You have an Airport ICAO code for example ENVR and the call to VaCentral returns no data for the Timezone. Does it matter to PHPVMS V7 if an airport record has no Timezone value ?. Generally speaking most of the data returned by the Vacentral Api seems to be correct and at a rough estimate is perfect for over 90% of all airports I called for the data from VAcentral. I am logging to a text file all the three above cases and when my testing is complete I will replay to this posting with more number such as the number of airports I created from Vacentral Calls and the numbers of each error or Omission Noting that because of flight schedules the same errors can be repeated and as such when the attached log-file in the next posting is made should not be that alarming as you can filter out repeated errors to get a unique list of errors and omissions, Finally I must say that Vacentral Api is a very good thing to have and I appreciate that it takes time and effort to put something like this together, my posting is not to degrade its usefulness in any way as I know to well that updating static data takes time as it is reactive after the real world has gone through the changes. In flight simulator and Virtual airline world we have to wait for real world changes. My report in the next posting will hopefully help the person or persons who maintain the Vacentral database to update with missing airports and correct records where information is missing or incorrect. The second posting will be made this week

So, when I open vmsACARS, it does not show me my pilot information. As well as that, I cannot choose my airline, find my bids/flights, or anything. I am looking to obtain assistance with applying maintenance to my PHPVMS website, as well as some customization (install and setup ACARS, etc.). Am not a website "guy", but rather a pilot/operations person. Have now problem in paying somebody a reasonable fee for their services. Please reply to this post, or directly to me at: arosenberg3@satx.rr.com Thanks Al Rosenberg San Antonio Texas

Solicitation for assistance - Website Maintenance and Customization
texxasal replied to texxasal's topic in Paid Services
To the point, if I could have understood how to do what I needed by "read through the docs", I wouldn't have bothered making the post you reference. I'm a pilot, not a web person. I don't have any desire to be a web person. I have more than enough to do to minimally configure my website and operate my organization. I wasn't looking for "how do I do things". I was looking for someone to do what I want done, and am perfectly willing to pay for it. Setting up and running an "additional" test site is absolutely the last thing I'm contemplating doing. While I'm sure those documents make great sense to you guys, who do this for a living, and most probably wrote the documents, they aren't in the least helpful to me. Maybe I'm just too stupid to run PHPVMS/ACARS? Didn't see where there's a minimum level of expertise required to be a customer/user, but maybe I missed that too.? If there's no viable response to my request, why post the availability of the topic? Al Rosenberg San Antonio Texas -
Unfortunately no, there is no easy way of doing that in phpvms v7. However, Disposable Basic (the new module pack I released instead of the old ones) + Disposable Theme v3 offers a pre defined solution for that. With Disposable Basic, you get 3 additional pages; roster, stats and one empty page for you to customize with widgets like LiveMap which can be used to show/display data at your main domain (with html/iframe). These pages will have no logo, background image or menu items. They are suitable for iframe usage at your landing pages (or main sites) /dp_roster // Pilot roster /dp_stats // Statistics /dp_page // Empty page in which you can place widgets like Flight Board etc as per your needs Check my landing page to see the result https://turksim.org , that info comes from my phpvms v7 with the background system Disposable Basic offers. For example you can change the Top Pilots with the Live Map etc. Good luck.

PHP Version: 7.4.21 phpVMS Version: 7.0.0-dev+210620.cde6fb MariaDB Version: 10.3.29 Whenever a pirep is submitted it throws out this error: "Trying to get property 'name' of non-object {"userId":1,"exception":"[object] (ErrorException(code: 0): Trying to get property 'name' of non-object at /phpvms/app/Services/PirepService.php:577)" and I'm not to sure how to go about fixing it so any help would be great Thanks. also included an image of where the error is occurring if that helps Edit: Also some further information regarding this, When the pirep is summited it still goes through to the admin panel for viewing/approving but when the actual submission is done it brings up a 500 server error page for the user submitting it.

public static function PilotAircraftFlownCounts($pilotid)
Ricky310 replied to Ricky310's topic in Support Forum
After further investigation , I suspect there is a error in the CodonCache.php file. That will not allow this function to work properly. It is these lines of script that I am refering to: $counts = CodonCache::read($key); and CodonCache::write($key, $counts, 'medium'); . This is way above my skill level to fix and way too expensive to hire someone. I got a quote from a web designer, $500 to $700 USD. This is highway robbery. I will do without this function and keep my aircraft hours on a spread sheet. I have yet to find a Virtual Airline that uses Pilots Aircraft Hours stat, or this function. Cheers! -
If you have any backup at your hosting service try getting the file from there (env.php is not changed much, so any old backup will be fine), if not you may need to re-install to get a new env.php 'cause when it is deleted there is no pre-defined way to build it back (with previous data it had in it). What you can do, as a workaround, create a new database first, install latest dev by using that new empty database. Finish the install, edit your new env.php and put old database details to that file. At least you will have your old data back.

Good Day, We use phpVMS Version simpilot 5.5.2 It seems our CAVacars has stopped communicating with our website.
