Members Vangelis Posted January 19, 2014 Members Report Posted January 19, 2014 As it seems geonames has a limit of queries. Change in your app.config line 219 from Config::Set('AIRPORT_LOOKUP_SERVER', 'geonames'); to Config::Set('AIRPORT_LOOKUP_SERVER', 'phpvms'); 1 1 Quote
pedroportugal Posted January 20, 2014 Author Report Posted January 20, 2014 Thanks Vangelis it works again. :) Quote
Edwin Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 just found out that I have the same issue and changed as described above, but for me this is not working. Any other hints? Quote
Moderators servetas Posted March 20, 2014 Moderators Report Posted March 20, 2014 Changing these values means that you are going to receive all the data from phpVMS. During the last months, phpVMS site has some timeouts and this means that you are not able to get any data from the server so you will have to wait until the timeout passes. Give it a try now and check if it works... Quote
flyalaska Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 Enter them in manually. You can get the coordinates from AirNav Quote
danydj96 Posted August 26, 2015 Report Posted August 26, 2015 Hello, Geonames and PHPVMS API are not working... Quote
aarbee Posted September 26, 2015 Report Posted September 26, 2015 I am having the same error. Both geonames and phpvms do not work anymore. Adding them manually is a pretty tough job, as most of the coordinates point somewhere next to the airport. Sometimes up to 10nm. But, it can be done, yes. But, what is the reason, that it does not work anymore? Quote

OA01 Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 This is another excellent source of airport information, including long/lat coordinates. http://worldaerodata.com/ Quote
