freshJet Posted March 9, 2014 Report Posted March 9, 2014 Is the server down? I can't use the ICAO lookup function when adding an airport. Quote
Caporrella Posted March 9, 2014 Report Posted March 9, 2014 yes, change geonames to phpvms in your local.config.php Quote

StartVM Posted March 9, 2014 Report Posted March 9, 2014 Does anyone know how to get the geonames API password because the phpVMS API is limited. It doesn't always input all the airport info. Quote
Members Vangelis Posted June 1, 2014 Members Report Posted June 1, 2014 What do you mean by password ? it is this Config::Set('AIRPORT_LOOKUP_SERVER', 'geonames'); or t his Config::Set('AIRPORT_LOOKUP_SERVER', 'phpvms'); Quote
magicflyer Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Hi Chase, I tried looking that up for you but all I see is that the geonames API is a paid usage API, which means that it charges X amount of dollars for each call. http://www.geonames.org/commercial-webservices.html . Maybe this is why phpvms support for geonames ended? However, I am not sure if that's what you're looking for. Quote
Moderators servetas Posted June 2, 2014 Moderators Report Posted June 2, 2014 Yes, this is why it stopped. You can use phpvms alternatively or write the airport data on your own searching on the Internet for them. Quote
