WiltshireAirlines
Hello everybody, I have downloaded the acarsd (ACARS decoder). I've entered all my information, like airports, flight numbers, aircraft, airlines, and some database info as well. I know this is a really broad question, but having no knowledge of ACARS...what do I do next? I can't seem to find a tutorial. Also, can someone explain how I integrate ACARS with my pilots? Is there like a code that pilots use? Or a server? Thanks!
flyalaska
Which ACARS software? There a few of them now.

sherming
Umm, this type of acars won't work with phpvms
Moderators servetas Posted May 2, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted May 2, 2014 This acars is not supported by phpVMS. If you have the coding skills (i think), you can integrate with phpvms but i don't think that is is so easy.
Strider
I dont think this is an acars that records your flight, it gets info from actual fflights and decodes them so you can read them.
WiltshireAirlines
OK. I have no idea about anything...at all. How can I integrate ACARS with phpVMS?
Moderators servetas Posted May 2, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted May 2, 2014 Unfortunately i am not able to help you. If you can't do it on your own, i would suggest to get in touch with a developer who will might be able to do it.
Tom
What are you actually trying to do? FSACARS, XAcars and FSPax are already set up within phpVMS by default. If you want to use another client you'll either have to install their server side code or speak to their developer if they don't already have one.
WiltshireAirlines
How do I use FSACARS? How can a pilot connect their sim with ACARS? Is it through a code or what?
Tom
They just install the ACARS client of their choice and set up with the config file downloaded from your VA site.
WiltshireAirlines
Where is that file found on my site? Also, does it automatically have all the schedules and aircraft in my fleet?

WiltshireAirlines
Do you recommend FSACARS, KACARS or XACARS?
Moderators servetas Posted May 3, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted May 3, 2014 I would not suggest FsAcars as it has many errors and currentlt it is not supported by phpVMS. Both kacars and xacars are good. Also, phpVMS supports Fs Flight Keeper and Fs Passengers...
flyalaska
I would recommend kACARS,
Moderators servetas Posted May 3, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted May 3, 2014 I do agree with Eddie. kAcars free version is great! On my virtual airline we have created an acars which does not look like the others and the functionallity is pretty good.
WiltshireAirlines
I have just successfully set up KACARS! Thanks for everyone's help!
